Abstract: The present invention provides a control method of a refrigerator, comprising: a first defrosting step of defrosting an evaporator and terminating the defrosting when the evaporator reaches a first temperature; a step of detecting pressure difference by means of a differential pressure sensor for measuring pressure difference between a first thru-hole, disposed between the evaporator and an inlet through which air flows in from a storage compartment, and a second thru-hole disposed between the evaporator and an outlet through which the air is discharged into the storage compartment; and a second defrosting step of additionally defrosting the evaporator if the measured pressure difference is greater than a configured pressure.

Abstract: A method for controlling a refrigerator includes providing an initial input value to a heater configured to supply heat to an evaporator, performing a continuous operation of the heater based on the initial input value to increase a temperature of the evaporator to a predetermined temperature, determining a period of time taken to increase the temperature of the evaporator to the predetermined temperature, determining whether the period of time is within a reference period of time, operating the heater based on a first input value that is equal to the initial input value based on a determination that the period of time is outside of the reference period of time, and operating the heater based on a second input value that is less than the initial input value based on a determination that the period of time is within the reference period of time.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a refrigerator. The refrigerator according to an embodiment of the present disclosure comprises: an evaporator; a defrost heater; a temperature sensor to sense ambient temperature around the evaporator; and a controller to control the defrost heater, wherein the controller is configured to: perform a defrost operation mode in a case of reaching a defrosting operation start time point; perform, based on the defrost operation mode, a continuous operation mode in which the defrost heater is continuously turned on, and a pulse operation mode in which the defrost heater is repeatedly turned on and off; and perform the continuous operation mode again after performing the pulse operation mode. Accordingly, defrosting efficiency may be improved, and power consumption may be reduced.

Abstract: A method for controlling a refrigerator includes operating, for a predetermined period of time, a heating element of a sensor disposed on a bypass passage which allows a portion of air to bypass an evaporator disposed in a heat-exchange space; sensing the temperature of the heating element in on or off state; and sensing the blockage of an air passage in the heat-exchange space on the basis of the difference in value of the temperature between a first sensed temperature, which is the lowest value, and a second sensed temperature, which is the highest value, from among the sensed temperatures of the heating element.

Abstract: A refrigerator includes a compressor, an input current detector to detect input current of alternating current (AC) power inputted to the refrigerator, a converter to convert the inputted AC power into direct current (DC) power, a capacitor to store the converted DC power, an inverter to output AC power using the converted DC power for driving of the compressor, a DC terminal voltage detector to detect voltage at two terminals of the capacitor, and a compressor microcomputer to control the inverter and to calculate refrigerator power consumption based on the detected input current and the detected DC terminal voltage. The refrigerator enables simplified power consumption calculation.
