A portable device and a method for providing a voice recognition service are disclosed. The portable device includes a mechanical vibration sensor configured to sense vibrations having a magnitude equal to or larger than a threshold and generate an electrical signal, a motion sensor configured to sense a motion of the portable device, an audio sensor configured to receive a voice command, a sensor hub configured to control a plurality of sensors including the motion sensor and the audio sensor, and a main processor configured to execute an application and control the portable device. When the portable device is placed in standby mode, upon receipt of the electrical signal from the mechanical vibration sensor, the sensor hub is configured to switch from inactive state to active state and activate the motion sensor.

A mobile terminal according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a display unit to output a first area thereon, the first area including a function icon, and a controller to detect setting information related to the function icon, on the basis of a touch degree of a first touch input applied to the function icon, wherein the controller applies the detected setting information to a setting of at least one application corresponding to at least one icon included in a second area, different from the first area, when a second touch input succeeding the first touch input is to applied to the second area.

A mobile terminal according to one embodiment of the present invention includes a sensing unit including at least one of a touch sensor and a pressure sensor, a display unit and a controller, the controller configured to display an execution screen of a first application on the display unit, the controller configured to control a predetermined function of the first application according to a change of a value of a first input signal received via the display unit in a state that the execution screen of the first application is displayed. In this case, the value of the first input signal is based on at least one of the area of a region of the display unit corresponding to the first input signal and pressure putting on the region of the display unit.
