摘要: Changes are managed in a multi-user database application environment. Proposed changes are collected, including changes to data, schema, and/or application descriptions. A user may specify foreign key relationships between items belonging to one or more of these categories. A view is produced showing the impact proposed changes would have on the environment if successfully committed. The user's proposed changes are ordered according to their dependencies, and submitted for committal together in a single transaction, subject to optimistic concurrency and consistency checks. For example, a proposed change to a data value may be inconsistent with a change which removed a data element containing the data value. The commitment operation may return identifiers and other return values, in addition to indicating whether the commitment was successful.

摘要: The present invention extends to validating measurable aspects of computing system. A provider causes a challenge to be issued to the requester, the challenge requesting proof that the requester is appropriately configured to access the resource. The requester accesses information that indicates how the requester is to prove an appropriate configuration for accessing the resource. The requester formulates and sends proof that one or more measurable aspects of the requester's configuration are appropriate. The provider receives proof that one or more measurable aspects of the requester's configuration are appropriate and authorizes the requester to access the resource. Proof of one more measurable aspects of a requester can be used along with other types of authentication to authorize a requester to access a resource of a provider. Solutions to challenges can be pre-computed and stored in a location accessible to a provider.

摘要: Serialization and deserialization using data contracts. The data contract specifies data types that are serialized and deserialized for data objects that are associated with the data contract. During serialization, the data contract associated with the data object is identified. Then, the data fields that correspond to those specified data field types are extracted from the data object and serialized into a serialization format. During deserialization, the serialization mechanism receives a serialized data structure having a particular serialization format. A data contract is then identified as being associated with the serialized data structure. After deserialization of the serialized data structure into abstract data, a corresponding data object is populated with data fields that correspond only with those data field types specified in the data contract. Accordingly, data abstraction is enabled while serializing and deserializing.
