    Abstract: The invention relates to a panel which is suitable for use as wall and/or ceiling paneling, in addition to an associated method for laying said panels and a method for the production thereof. The inventive panel for a wall or ceiling comprises coupling means. The coupling means are embodied in such a way that the panel can be joined to other panels in various positions. Said positions can, for example, involve various distances between the longitudinal edges of two panels that are arranged in parallel. According to the inventive laying method, a first panel is engaged with a second panel in a first step, whereupon the panels assume an angular position in relation to each other. At least one of the panels, particularly the first panel, is pivoted in a second step on a common plane, whereupon the panels become locked in relation to each other.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a panel (1) with connecting means (3, 4, 7, 9) which make a positive connection with a further panel (2) possible. A panel (1) comprises as connecting means laterally a groove (3) formed by two rigid flanks. One of the two rigid flanks (6) is longer than the other one. The longer rigid flank (6) comprises a recess (7). The other panel comprises laterally a tongue (4). The tongue (4) comprises on an under- or top side a lug (9). The lug (9) and the recess (7) are so arranged that the lug (9) is able to engage with the recess (7).The side of the tongue comprising the lug comprises a slope (12), so that when the panels are in the joined state, as a result of the slope (12) a spacing remains between the slope (12) and the longer rigid flank (6).The two panels may be connected to one another gluelessly without the exertion of force.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a compression device for compressing a stratified material for producing panels, in particular for a floor, comprising two heated plates, gripping and transport elements, with which a 5 to 12 mm thick stratified material for producing floor panels is gripped and transported between the plates of the compression device. Said device also comprises displacement elements which convey the heated plates to the stratified material in order to compress the latter, whereby the position of the heated of the gripping elements is chosen in such a way that the gripping elements are located next to the press plates. The displacement elements are controlled in such a way that both heated plates reach the stratified material simultaneously and are withdrawn from said stratified material in the same manner. The device enables particularly wide, high-quality panels to be produced.
