Abstract: A method of assembling a chair back onto a chair bottom by providing a back portion of material having first and second end portions insertable into the chair bottom, boring a hole longitudinally into the ends of the back members, providing a bore transverse to the longitudinal bore on each of the end portions of the chair back, inserting peg member into the transverse bore, the peg member further including a threaded bore which aligns with the longitudinal bore when the member is positioned therein, providing a bolt member insertable into the longitudinal bore from the underside of the chair bottom and threadably engaging the peg member inserted therein, and threadably tightening the bolt member so that as the bolt member is tightened the chair back end portions are fulled in engagement with the chair bottom.

Abstract: A vessel holder for cups or the like, having a generally square or rectangular base portion for positioning on a flat surface such as the dashboard or a seat, a plurality of side members positionable from a storage position substantially horizontal against the upper face of the base, and movable to a substantially vertical position wherein a cup or a bottle may be placed within the space defined by the four upright members. It is further included a wire border which is a generally rectangular portion of wire positionable as a continuous border around the upper portions of the upright sides, in order to define a substantially continuous member in order to hold the side members in an upright position. Further, one of the ends of the upper border is somewhat truncated in order to define an opening in the sidewall so that a handle on the cup may extend therefrom. Further, each of the sides are defined by a continuous wire member including a means for inserting a portion of the upper border between the wire members in order to define the continuous sidewall.

Abstract: An apparatus adaptable to a trash bin, the bin being of the type having four side walls, and a swinging door panel on the upper portion of one of the side walls, for allowing the panel to be manually opened and a tray to be slid within the opening and food or trash allowed to be dumped from the tray into a trash can contained within the bin. The apparatus would comprise a foot pedal hingedly secured to the interior wall of the bin, and an opening above the foot pedal so that one may have access to the foot pedal with one's foot, a line running from the front face of the foot pedal upward and interconnecting the interior face of the door panel; and a pulley secured to the side wall of the bin, so that the line runs over the pulley, in such a fashion when one places force downward on the foot pedal, the line is retracted so that the door panel is swung into the opening within the container, thus giving access to the container through the opening formed by the opened panel. Upon removal of one's foot from the pedal, the door would simply be returned back to the closed position for sealing off the opening in the container.

Abstract: A hand-held device for extracting a base of a light bulb from a socket, including a body portion, circular in cross-section, and of a diameter which is easily grasped by the human hand; and constructed of rubber or the like material which does not convey electrical current; a rubber jacket over the body portion having protrusions to allow the user to have a firm, non-slip grip on the device when in use; each end being conically shaped end; the first end being of an increasing conical diameter, so as to allow the end to be inserted into a typically sized light bulb base, and the second end being of a slightly less conical diameter to allow the end to be inserted into smaller bulbs, such as Christmas tree or chandelier sized bulbs. Each of the two conical ends would be hollowed out to a certain extent. Further the surface of each conically shaped end would comprise a plurality of parallel ridges which would provide a firmer grip between the device and the bulb base. In use, one end of the device would be inserted into the hollow base of the spent bulb, until the conical surface makes frictional engagement with the interior of the bulb base. At this point, the device is rotated and imparts rotation to the base, which unscrews from the light socket. Even if the power to the fixture is on, the device would not transmit electrical current to the use because of its material makeup.
