摘要: A steel for machine structural use which comprises, on the percent by mass basis, C: 0.1 to 0.6%, Si: 0.01 to 2.0%, Mn: 0.2 to 2.0%, S: 0.005 to 0.20%, P: not more than 0.1%, Ca: 0.0001 to 0.01%, N: 0.001 to 0.02% and Al: not more than 0.1%, with the balance being Fe and impurities, with a value of [Ca]e defined by [Ca]e=T.[Ca]−(T.[O]/(O)ox)×(Ca)ox of not more than 5 ppm or with a proportion of MnO contained in oxide inclusions of not more than 0.05 and a value of Ca/O of not more than 0.8 is excellent in machinability and, therefore, it can be used as a steel stock for various machine structural steel parts, such as in industrial machinery, construction machinery and conveying machinery such as automobiles. It is substantially free of Pb, hence suited for use as a steel friendly to the global environment. [Ca]e is the effective Ca concentration index (ppm by mass), T.[Ca] and T.[O] are the contents of Ca and O, respectively, in ppm by mass, and (O)ox and (Ca)ox are the proportions of O and Ca contained in oxide inclusion, respectively.

摘要: An ink-jet recording head (10) includes a first head member (16a) in which a first nozzle (30) is formed, and a second head member (16b) in which a second nozzle (30) is formed. The first and second head members (16a,16b) are made of materials having different repellent characteristics against ink material. Even if the first and second nozzle have the same size, ink droplets ejected from the first and second nozzles (30) have respective diameters. This enables the ink-jet head (10) to eject ink droplets having various sizes to print a highly graded halftone image.

摘要: A plasma display device is capable of creating a screen of high quality without generating half tone noise in the succeeding frames irrespective of the arrangement or the turn-on state of the subframes in a preceding frame that is being displayed. A picture of a frame is displayed on a plasma display device by combining a plurality of subframes SF1 and Sfn having different degrees of brightness. Each of the plurality of subframes SF1 and Sfn includes a totally writing and totally self-erasing period S1, an address period S2, a sustain discharge period S3, and a quiescent period S4 determined by a difference between the sum of the periods S1 to S3 and a period of a vertical synchronizing signal Vsync. A period S5 for imparting a discharge waveform different from the sustain discharge waveform applied across the electrodes is provided in the sustain discharge period S3 between the quiescent period S4 in the predetermined frame FM1 and the totally writing and totally self-erasing period S1 in the succeeding frame FM2.

摘要: A live camera whose image pickup direction is remote-controlled is utilized, and a plurality of frames picked up in different pickup directions are composed so as to generate a composite image, and this is stored in a memory. Upon request from the user for altering the pickup direction, in the composite image within the memory, an extraction area is shifted in the horizontal direction and vertical direction in response to the request for alteration in a manner so as to correspond to a pickup image in the live camera, and the image within the extracted area is transmitted to the user. This arrangement eliminates the necessity of altering the pickup direction of the live camera mechanically, and independent of the mechanical alteration, only the electrical image processing of the composite image is carried out, with the result that the user is allowed to feel as if he or she were actually operating the live camera. In other words, even if a plurality of users request to alter the pickup direction, one live camera can deal with these requests; therefore, it is possible to effectively utilize the live camera, and consequently to construct a remote control camera system at low costs.

摘要: A method for cold rolling a strip is wherein brushing roll are provided to both the work rolls and the back up rolls of the temper mill, to remove particles from the surface of the rolls of the mill and suction ducts adjacent to the brushing rolls transport the foreign objects out of the mill system. The sucking speed at the duct is at least 5 m/sec., and preferably 8 m/sec. The length of the bristle is from 15 to 60 mm, the diameter thereof being from 0.15 mm to 1.0 mm, and the material thereof is selected from a group of nylon, propyrene, or a the mixture thereof. The density of the bristle with respect to the peripheral surface area of the brushing rolls for the work roll is from 55 to 85% by area. Abrasive grains with a grain size of #300 to #1200 are incorporated in the brush of said brushing roll which enhance the brushing ability. The material of the abrasive grain includes at least one selected from a group of alumina, titania, and silicate, and the volume percentage of the grain with respect to the volume of the brush is from 5 to 30% in volume.

摘要: A flat display employs at least one high voltage different from logic voltages. The display has a voltage detection unit and a drive control signal control unit. The voltage detection unit is used to detect the high voltage. The drive control signal control unit is used to control drive control signals of the flat display in accordance with the detected high voltage. This arrangement eliminates charging currents that are applied to a display panel but have nothing to do on the actual displaying of data, or reactive currents due to unnecessary switching operations, thereby reducing power consumption.
