Abstract:
The present invention provides a lightweight sleeve and spool arrangement for use in certain pumps. Such lightweight sleeve and spool arrangement comprises a sleeve having a predetermined number of apertures and having a predetermined interior diameter. The sleeve is formed from a first predetermined plastic material selected from a group consisting of nylons, acetals, polysulfones, polyesters, polyetherimides and polyamide-imines. There is also a spool that has a predetermined configuration and a predetermined exterior diameter. Such predetermined exterior diameter being about 0.0005 inches smaller than the predetermined interior diameter of such sleeve. The spool is formed from a second predetermined plastic material selected from a group consisting of nylons, acetals, polysulfones, polyesters, polyetherimides and polyamide-imines.
Abstract:
A plant pot includes a sleeve and a base disposed across one end of the sleeve, the sleeve and base together forming a container for holding potting soil. The sleeve is formed of a flexible membrane that is both permeable to air and water vapor, and impermeable to liquid water, enabling aeration of the soil through the sleeve while inhibiting liquid water transfer across the fabric.
Abstract:
A method for making an injection molded multilayer polymer pump diaphragm having one side resistant to chemicals. The method can include injecting molten polymer material of a first type having chemical resistance properties into a first pump diaphragm mold cavity to produce a first pump diaphragm layer; curing the first pump diaphragm layer; applying an adhesive to one side of the first pump diaphragm layer; placing the first pump diaphragm layer in a second pump diaphragm mold cavity sized to receive an amount of a second type of polymer material against the adhesive painted side of the first pump diaphragm layer; injecting molten polymer material of the second type into the second pump diaphragm mold cavity into contact with the adhesive to produce a second pump diaphragm layer adhered to first pump diaphragm layer; and curing the second pump diaphragm layer such that said first and second pump diaphragm layers adhere together to form a pump diaphragm having one side which is resistant to chemicals.
Abstract:
The present invention provides an assembly for supporting a rotatable shaft member driven by a motor. The assembly comprises a base member, an upright support member connected to the base member and a bearing member mounted on the upright support member Such bearing member is connectable with the rotatable shaft member for supporting such rotatable shaft member thereby reducing extraneous vertical and horizontal movement of such rotatable shaft member while permitting such rotatable shaft member to rotate freely.
Abstract:
An infant care apparatus convertible between a bassinet and changing table, including a carrier removable from a support frame for transporting an infant. The carrier is placed upon the frame for use as a bassinet. The frame also supports a changing table surface exposed for use with the carrier removed. The base of the frame includes retractable wheels and rockers. The frame is releasably securable to an adult bed for co-sleeping.
Abstract:
An endplate for attachment to a stator frame of an electric motor used to drive an air compressor. The air compressor has a crankshaft rotationally supported by at least one rotational bearing, and the electric motor includes the stator frame, a stator element mounted to and within the stator frame, and a rotor element rigidly mounted on a portion of the crankshaft for rotation therewith. The crankshaft projects through the stator element and terminates in a distal end. The endplate is adapted for mounting to the stator frame so as to provide support for mounting an additional rotational bearing for rotationally supporting the distal end of the crankshaft on an opposite side of the rotor from the at least one rotational bearing. The endplate includes a cap member and an attachment mechanism for attaching the cap member to the stator frame, the cap member including a rotational bearing housing for mounting and positioning a rotational bearing thereon and the rotational bearing housing being substantially positioned in juxtaposition to the distal end of the crankshaft when the cap member is attached to the stator frame by the attachment mechanism. Also disclosed is a kit for retrofitting an electric motor driven air compressor so as to provide the electric motor driven air compressor with such an outboard rotational bearing.
