Abstract:
A method for activating additional functions in response to a rollover procedure of a vehicle, using at least one sensor and one control unit, the sensor supplying at least one unidirectional acceleration signal, having the following method steps: analyzing at least one acceleration signal in its characteristics as a function of time; processing analyzed values of the at least one acceleration signal; establishing the plausibility of the processed values using a second signal value; and activating at least one additional function in response to a rollover procedure of the vehicle in the light of the values whose plausibility has been established; as well as a control device using this method.
Abstract:
A device for determining a center of rotation of a vehicle around the vehicle's vertical axis determines the center of rotation as a function of a yaw rate and a float angle.
Abstract:
A computer has a case with a front side that is clad with a front panel. The front panel includes openings beside the mounting spaces for receiving PC components with attached retaining bars. The PC components can be inserted into the computer by way of the front side without having to disassemble the front panel.
Abstract:
Unbridged indenyl-containing metallocenes are disclosed along with methods for making the metallocenes. Also disclosed are methods for using the metallocenes as polymerization catalysts. In addition, polymers resulting from such polymerizations are disclosed.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a tensioning system for a belt or chain drive. Tensioners are known in which there are plastic friction bushes to damp oscillations where the coefficient of friction is adversely affected by temperature effects. It is the purpose of the invention to provide a tensioning system in which the friction coating retains a virtually constant frictional torque throughout its useful life. To this end, according to the invention there is a basic component (2) in which against a base (5) in the shape of a circular disc bears a friction coating (18) on which is supported a friction disc (10) which is secured against rotation by means of a shaft (7), to the tensioner (9) producing the oscillating movement.
Abstract:
A device and a method for triggering passenger protection systems, the passenger protection systems being triggered as a function of a rollover process. A signal which characterizes a road grip coefficient (coefficient of friction) is received via an interface. An evaluation circuit is provided which triggers the passenger protection systems as a function of the signal and a stability factor, the evaluation circuit determining the stability factor as a function of at least one kinematic variable.
Abstract:
A brush head for an electric toothbrush is disclosed. The brush head includes a bristle support having mounting means for the movable mounting of the bristle support and a plurality of bristle tufts arranged on the bristle support in at least one outer ring and one middle ring, the middle ring being nested within the outer ring and having a central area. The outer ring includes outer bristle tufts having an elongated tuft cross-section, which outer bristle tufts are mounted on opposing sides of the outer ring. The middle ring includes at least two middle bristle tufts that each have a cross-section that is smaller than the cross-section of the outer bristle tufts and a central area including at least one bristled section that consists of two center bristle tufts having a cross-section larger than the cross-section of the middle bristle tufts. The center bristle tufts each having an elongated, substantially kidney-shaped form that complement each other so that the bristled section of the central area has an approximately circular, oval or elliptical structure.
Abstract:
A metallurgical melting vessel has a vertical shaft, surrounded by a housing wall, which receives steel scrap. At least one closure element, having laterally spaced-apart fingers extending parallel to one another, is mounted such that it can move between a closed position and an open position. In the closed position, the fingers protrude at least partially into the shaft for the purpose of holding back steel scrap. In the open position, the fingers free the shaft at least to such an extent that the steel scrap can fall from the shaft into the melting vessel. The at least one closure element is mounted so as to be movable from the side of the shaft into the shaft and laterally thereoutof.
Abstract:
A computer case includes outer panels forming an internal space sized and shaped to accommodate at least a motherboard, a plug-in card and a hard drive; and an inner panel arranged in the internal space and which physically forms a separate lower section of the internal space from an upper section of the internal space, wherein the upper section is arranged above the lower section of the internal space such that the upper section of the internal space accommodates the motherboard and the plug-in card and the lower section of the internal space accommodates the hard drive.
