Abstract: Systems, methods, apparatuses, and computer program products for connected mode mobility management for group of users in a vehicle and served by the non-terrestrial network deployments are provided. For example, a method can include detecting, by a user equipment, a cell-edge condition while the user equipment is being served through non-terrestrial radio access. The user equipment can also initiate prioritized transmission conditioned on the detected cell-edge condition and can transmit uplink data transmission using the prioritized transmission before leaving coverage provided by the non-terrestrial radio access.

Abstract: A reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) in a radio network includes a plurality of passive elements which are controlled by a plurality of active elements distributed among the plurality of passive elements, wherein the plurality of active elements configure the reconfigurable intelligent surface to perform, based on at least one request message, at least one of sensing incident electromagnetic radiation harvested over at least one frequency range by the passive elements; and steering energy of the harvested electromagnetic radiation towards at least one energy harvesting device in the radio network. A network node is configured to select at least one reconfigurable intelligent surface in a radio network; and send at least one request message to the selected reconfigurable intelligent surface to cause the reconfigurable intelligent surface to steer harvested electromagnetic radiation within at least one frequency range toward at least one energy harvesting device in the radio network.

Abstract: Systems, methods, apparatuses, and computer program products for switching beams on/off for high altitude platform stations (HAPS) are provided. One method may include selecting a beam on/off pattern from one or more beam on/off patterns for a high altitude platform station (HAPS) and a rotation period for the beam on/off pattern, based at least on flight information of the high altitude platform station (HAPS) and user equipment (UE) traffic load information. The method may also include transmitting, to one or more user equipment (UEs), an indication of beam switching on/off operation comprising at least one of the selected beam on/off pattern, a pattern rotation speed, and a reference time slot for a start of the selected beam on/off pattern. The method may then include initiating the beam switching on/off operation.
