    Abstract: An optical medical treatment device is configured as follows: a pair of electric contacts are disposed at a predetermined surface part of a catheter through which a distal end of an optical fiber configured to emit laser light is guided to an affected part inside the body of a subject, and a laser drive circuit detects whether the predetermined surface part of the catheter is in contact with inside of the body of the subject based on the state of conduction between the electric contacts, and permits emission of laser light from a laser element when at least the predetermined surface part of the catheter is in contact with inside of the body of the subject.

    Abstract: A dilator, dilating a narrowed part of a paranasal sinus, includes an end effector, and the end effector includes a pair of treatment pieces openable and closable relative to each other. Each of the treatment pieces includes a treatment surface facing a side on which the treatment piece opens, and each of the treatment surfaces includes an inclined surface inclined to be closer to a side on which the treatment piece closes as a distance to a distal end of the treatment piece decreases. The pair of inclined surfaces become parallel or substantially parallel to each other when the treatment pieces are opened to a maximum angle. The end effector opens anisotropically.

    Abstract: A treatment system includes a guide, tubular dilator members, an operation portion, and a holding portion. The guide extends linearly or curvilinearly. The dilator members pass the guide inside and are configured to move forward along the guide. The operation portion is configured to sequentially move the plurality of dilator members from a proximal end side of the guide to a distal end side of the guide. The holding portion is provided on the guide.     Abstract: A tumor treatment method for treating a tumor in a subject, the method includes: a step I of administering a therapeutically effective amount of one or a plurality of antibody-IR 700 molecules to the subject, in which the antibody specifically binds to a cell surface protein of the tumor; a step II of inserting an optical probe into the subject; a step III of applying light having a wavelength in a range from 660 nm to 740 nm from the optical probe, to supply energy of at least 1 J/cm2 to at least a part of the tumor; a step IV of waiting for a time until an immune response is elicited in the tumor; a step V of inserting an energy device into the subject; and a step VI of resecting tissues of the subject including the tumor using the energy device.

    Abstract: An optical connector includes a plug frame including a ferrule insertion portion. An eight-sided regular polygonal attachment hole, into which a four-sided regular polygonal flange portion of a flange is fitted, is formed in the ferrule insertion portion so that vicinities of outer corner portions of a four-sided regular polygon of the flange portion come into contact with inner corner portions of the eight-sided regular polygonal attachment hole, thereby preventing rotation of the flange centered on an axis direction of the flange. A ferrule is inserted into the plug frame while a rotation position determined by the flange portion and the attachment hole is adjusted relative to a direction of eccentricity of an optical fiber in a ferrule cylindrical body, and the ferrule is fitted in and held by the plug frame.
