Abstract: A display device includes: a closed-bottomed first lens tube including a first display part on the closed bottom for displaying a first image; a closed-bottomed second lens tube including a second display part on the closed bottom for displaying a second image; an adjustment mechanism including an operable part that is provided between and adjusts a distance between the first and second lens tubes; and an eye cup provided for each of the first and second lens tubes that is tubular and detachably attached to the open end of the first or second lens tube. The eye cup includes: an insertion part that is tubular and inserted inside the first or second lens tube; and a cup part having a curved sheet shape that extends outside of the first or second lens tube.

Abstract: This correction method comprises: acquiring, by means of a processing circuit of a head-mounted display, projection angles via a photographic lens of dots of a correction test pattern corresponding to dots of a reference test pattern, the angle being calculated on the basis of the correction test pattern obtained by photographing the reference test pattern with the photographic lens through a correction lens that corrects the user's visual characteristics, the reference test pattern including one dot placed at a reference point and at least one dot placed on each of a plurality of straight lines extending in different directions from the reference point; and correcting, by means of the processing circuit, distortion in a virtual space image caused by the adjustment lens on the basis of projection angles corresponding to the dots of the reference test pattern.

Abstract: A video display device includes: a video receiver that receives video data including a video and dynamic luminance characteristics indicating a time-dependent change in luminance characteristics of the video; a tone mapping processor that, in the case where a luminance region having a luminance less than or equal to a first luminance is defined as a low luminance region, and a luminance region having a luminance exceeding the first luminance is defined as a high luminance region, (i) performs first tone mapping using first conversion characteristics when first luminance characteristics exceed a predetermined threshold value, and (ii) performs second tone mapping using second conversion characteristics when the first luminance characteristics are less than or equal to the predetermined threshold value.

The tone mapping processor switches between: a first operation of performing the tone mapping process by using first dynamic metadata that indicates the maximum luminance that is constant over the plurality of time intervals, the first dynamic metadata being generated by using static metadata that indicates a maximum luminance of the video in the predetermined period; and a second operation of performing the tone mapping process by using second dynamic metadata in which the maximum luminance varies over the plurality of time intervals.
