Abstract: A liquid crystal display device according to an embodiment is disclosed. The liquid crystal display device includes a liquid crystal display panel; a light emitting diode (LED) substrate; a plurality of light emitting diodes (LEDs) disposed on the LED substrate; a first diffuser disposed between the plurality of LEDs and the liquid crystal display panel; a bandpass filter being disposed between the plurality of LEDs and the diffuser; and a plurality of focus lenses corresponding to the plurality of LEDs, wherein each of the LEDs includes one of the plurality of focus lenses.

Abstract: A curved dual-panel electronic display device including a back display panel having a curved shape and a plurality of pixels and a front display panel having a curved shape and a plurality of pixels. The front display panel back display panel being stacked and curved such that the outer surface of the front display has convex shape. A first pixel from the front display panel overlaps with a second pixel from a second display panel in a normal view, and a length of the first pixel in a direction of the curve of the front display panel is larger than the length of the second pixel in a length direction of the curve of the back display panel.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for a liquid crystal display (LCD). The LCD can include a first LCD panel, a second LCD panel stacked on the first LCD panel, and a data processor that generates, based on an external input image signal, a first image data for the first LCD panel and a second image data for the second LCD panel. The data processor may further include a memory storing a position of a defective pixel of a white spot and a controller changing a gray scale level of a first pixel using the position of the defective pixel, the first pixel at least partially overlapping the position of the defective pixel, wherein the defective pixel is in the first LCD panel and the first pixel is in the second LCD panel.

Abstract: A device capable of switching between an image display state and a mirror state is provided. The device includes an image display portion and a mirror portion. The image display portion emits image light for displaying a desired image and includes a display panel. The mirror portion is superposed on the image display portion and can switch between an image transmittance state for transmitting image light and a mirror state for reflecting outside light. The mirror portion includes a liquid crystal layer disposed between a first glass substrate and a second glass substrate and a reflective polarization layer adhered to the second glass substrate. A reflective enhancement layer separate from the reflective polarization layer is disposed between the display panel and the liquid crystal layer and has a refractive index that is different from the refractive index of the second glass substrate.
