The present invention concerns a method and an apparatus of generating a reference event in a receiving node receiving frames of information, when a frame of information is received, the method and the apparatus sample the frame of information in order to form sampled data, process sampled data in order to detect among said sampled data a specific data, monitor the number of processed sampled data until the detection of a specific data and generate a reference event according to the result of processing and monitoring.

Method for managing a distribution of bandwidth in a communications network, corresponding computer-readable storage medium and slave node.A method is proposed for managing a distribution of bandwidth in a communications network by means of a slave node of the network, said network comprising a set of nodes.The slave node is such that it performs steps for: determining a coarse representation and a detailed representation of the distribution of the bandwidth in said network, as a function of a piece or pieces of information relative to conditions of transmission in said network and/or relative to applications needs of transmission; receiving a coarse reference representation of the distribution of bandwidth in said network, coming from a master node of said network; comparing said determined coarse representation and said reference coarse representation; should said coarse representations be identical, applying said determined detailed representation; if not, applying said coarse reference representation.

One embodiment of the invention pertains to a method for allocating bandwidth in a communications network, characterized in that it comprises steps for: a) determining a subset of elementary networks from a set of possible elementary networks in a communications network, the elementary networks of the subset each being capable of simultaneously implementing a elementary network encoding scheme; b) determining at least one critical destination node in the communications network; c) allocating at least one bandwidth portion released by an application of the elementary network encoding scheme in at least one elementary network of the subset, for a transmission of at least one additional data unit to the at least one critical destination node.

The present invention relates to a method of synchronization between communication networks exchanging information by frame of informations, each communication network having clock and the number of clock pulses is monitored by a counter the synchronization is made by reading information representing the counted clock pulses of the clock of the first network at the appearance of a reference event, inserting at least said information or calculated information on the basis of said information into the frame of information as the synchronization information, transferring said frame of information from the first to the second network, reading information representing the number of counted clock pulse of the clock of the second network at the appearance of reference event, reading synchronization information inserted in received frame of information from the first network, calculating a difference between information and synchronizing the second network.
