摘要:
An X-ray imaging method includes performing an X-ray exposure via an X-ray radiation source responsive to a source controller. The method also includes sampling X-ray image data via a digital detector without communication of timing signals from the source controller. The method further includes combining the sampled X-ray image data of at least one imaging frame or two or more imaging frames with at least one of the frames spanning a duration in which the exposure occurred, to produce X-ray image data capable of being reconstructed into a user-viewable image.

An X-ray imaging method includes in a digital X-ray detector including an array of discrete picture elements each including a photodiode and a transistor, applying a first voltage to the transistors of the discrete picture elements. The method also includes preparing for acquisition of X-ray image data by sampling data from the discrete picture elements while applying a second voltage to the transistors of the discrete picture elements not then being sampled, the second voltage being more negative than the first voltage. The method further includes receiving X-ray radiation on the detector from a source. The method yet further includes sampling X-ray image data from the discrete picture elements while applying the second voltage to the transistors of the discrete picture elements not then being sampled.

An X-ray imaging system includes a digital X-ray detector configured to acquire X-ray image data without communication from a source controller and to send the X-ray image data to a portable detector control device for processing and image preview. The source controller is configured to command X-ray emissions of X-rays from an X-ray radiation source for image exposures.

A method and system for detecting the potential of an x-ray imaging system to create images with scintillator hysteresis artifacts includes examining an x-ray image to measure two signal levels for two areas of interest, then determining a difference between the two signal levels and comparing the difference to a threshold. The signal levels can be measured by determining an amount of electrical charge discharged in photodiodes of the detector. If the difference in signals is greater than the threshold amount, then the possibility exists that scintillator hysteresis artifacts may be produced in images. In addition, the present invention also provides for the elimination or reduction in magnitude of scintillator hysteresis artifacts in images produced by an x-ray imaging system. After the possibility of scintillator hysteresis artifacts is detected, the detector can be irradiated with an x-ray flux to eliminate or reduce the magnitude of the artifacts in images produced by the x-ray imaging system.

In a digital x-ray imager alignment method, a low exposure x-ray image of an object is taken. The dose is sufficient to create an image of an object and alignment bars on an antiscatter grid. The relative position of the alignment bars on the image is measured. The relative angle of the detector to the x-ray source is adjusted. This adjustment brings the grid into alignment with the x-ray source. A diagnostic x-ray exposure image of the object is then taken.

A method for energy dependent imaging of a region of interest includes the step of exposing an X-ray detector to X-ray photons during an examination period, and separating the X-ray photons into two groups, those with energies above a selected energy threshold, and those with energies below a selected energy threshold. The X-ray photons with energy above the threshold are counted to provide a first energy photon count, while the X-ray photons with energy below the threshold are counted to provide a second energy photon count. The method stores the first energy photon count and the second energy photon count in a memory as examination data, and produces an image by applying an image processing technique to the examination data.
