Abstract:
A tuyere stock for a blast furnace comprises three pipes arranged end-to-end. Between the first and second pipes and between the second and third pipes there are flexible bellows units and a pair of links on opposite sides of the second pipe are connected at their ends through spherical bearings to the first and third pipes so as to permit relative movement between the first and third pipes in two mutually normal directions which are also normal to the longitudinal axes of the links.
Abstract:
A first electrical connector (1) for terminating an electrical cable (11) and for engaging with a mating electrical connector (51). The first connector comprises a body (5) having an engagement portion including a sleeve (7) whose passage extends along a mating axis (101) for engaging the mating electrical connector. The connector comprises at least one resilient member (15), such as a coil spring, arranged on the sleeve. The resilient member is capable of deforming radial to the mating axis (101) to provide a reaction force for maintaining the engagement of the connector with the mating connector. The first connector can be detached by lifting a boot (13) to pry apart the connectors.
Abstract:
A jet engine, including a wall surrounding a first gas flow ejected from a downstream end of the wall along a longitudinal axis, a second flow of gas running outside the wall in a direction of ejection of the first gas flow, at least one duct arranged on the periphery of the downstream end of the wall which is desired to eject a gas flow for interacting with one and/or the other gas flow, the at least one duct including a terminal section provided at the free end thereof with an outlet opening through which the fluid is ejected. The terminal section successively includes a first section of straight duct aligned along a median axis and a second duct section forming a bend relative to the straight section, the second portion having a free end provided with the outlet opening and sufficiently close to the median axis of the first section to give the terminal section a reduced restriction in a direction of formation of the bend.
Abstract:
A nozzle allowing the reduction of noise generated by aircraft jet engines having at least one output ring which disturbs the propulsion jet, and having at least one pair of conduits from which the propulsion of jet air is ejected at the output of the nozzle. The conduits of each pair are disposed convergent with respect to each other in order to generate a triangle of interaction of the air jets at the output ring.
Abstract:
An electrical connector comprises a dielectric spacing element having elongate through holes and a forward end surface; a plurality of parallel, elongate conductive contacts arranged in respective through holes of the spacing element, the conductive contacts providing electrical connections; an outer body arranged about the spacing element and the conductive contacts, the outer body having a longitudinal position fixed relative to the dielectric spacing element and having a forward end for engagement with a mating connector; and a collar slidably mounted about the outer body. The collar has an engagement position in which a forward surface of the collar is positioned in front of the forward end of the outer body for mechanically coupling the connector with the mating connector and a retracted position in which the forward surface of the collar is positioned behind the forward end surface of the spacing element for cleaning access to the conductive contacts. The connector further comprises means, such as a resilient member, for maintaining the collar in the retracted position.

Abstract:
An electrical connecting device for two electrical components which, when assembled, have electrical contact areas facing each other. The electrical connecting device comprises: a plurality of metallic connecting elements, each connecting element having first and second contact portions resiliently compressible against each other; and a flexible dielectric carrier sheet for the connecting elements, a portion of each connecting element being attached to the carrier sheet. Each connecting element comprises a strip of material having a bend at an intermediate portion. In the device, the connecting elements are resiliently compressible against each other, independent of any supporting structure. A rigid supporting structure is accordingly not required.
Abstract:
A dental impression tray is disclosed comprising a frame having left and right side walls and a distal bar. The distal bar has a distal end and structural arcs on either side of the distal end which connect the distal bar to the corresponding left and right side walls, and a mesh is attached to the frame at the side walls and at the distal end. The mesh cooperates with the frame to define openings formed between the mesh and the structural arcs.
Abstract:
An aircraft jet engine including a wall centered about a longitudinal axis and surrounding a stream of gas ejected at a downstream end of the wall in the direction of the axis, primary ducts distributed at the periphery of the downstream end of the wall configured on command each to eject a jet of primary fluid to interact with the ejected stream of gas, the primary ducts of each pair converging towards one another near the downstream end of the wall so that the primary jets ejected form two sides of a triangle that meet at the vertex thereof in a view projected onto a plane perpendicular to a transverse plane, and secondary ducts each associated with each pair of primary ducts and configured on command to eject a jet of secondary fluid directed into the triangle formed by the primary jets.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method of treating a disease or condition mediated by platelet activation comprising supplying a therapeutically effective amount of an ERP5 inhibitor to a patient in need thereof, so as to reduce the effects of platelet activation in said patient.
