The pump includes a pump bulb connected to a pump body that is in fluid communication with the reservoir and the cylinder; an inlet valve operable to allow a portion of the fluid volume to be drawn from the reservoir and delivered into the pump bulb; an exhaust valve operable to allow the portion of the fluid volume delivered into the pump bulb to be pumped into the cylinder; and an anti-autoinflation (AAI) valve disposed in the pump body and comprising a seal that is biased to prevent fluid flow from bypassing the pump bulb and flowing from the reservoir to the cylinder.

摘要： An implantable penile prosthesis system includes a penile prosthesis and an insertion tool. The penile prosthesis includes a cylinder extending between a distal tip and a proximal tip. At least one of the distal tip and the proximal tip has a pocket accessible by an opening, where the pocket is formed to extend laterally beyond a perimeter of the opening. The insertion tool extends between a distal end and a proximal end and includes an expansion mechanism coupled to the distal end. The opening in the tip(s) is sized to receive the distal end of the insertion tool and the expansion mechanism is configured to expand into the pocket to couple the insertion tool with the penile prosthesis.

The inflatable penile implant includes a cylinder and a distal end portion connected to a distal end of the cylinder along a major longitudinal axis of the cylinder. The distal end portion forms a fluid chamber that is in fluid communication with the cylinder, and a fluid conduit is integrally formed to communicate with the fluid chamber in the distal end portion. The fluid conduit has a minor longitudinal axis that forms an angle with the major longitudinal axis of 5 degrees or less.

The body portion includes support structure positioned at an interior surface of the body portion near an orifice of the reservoir, which orifice leads to a fluid passage of the tube. The support structure may comprise a plurality of protrusions that are arranged around the orifice and that extend from a base portion of the body portion. The invention also relates to a method of manufacturing a fluid reservoir for a penile implant device, which includes positioning a tube in a mold and injection molding a reservoir body onto the tube. More particularly, the method may include providing a mold, positioning a tube in the mold, injecting material into the mold, curing the material, and opening the mold to remove the reservoir body and tube assembly.

摘要： A pump and valve assembly for an implantable prosthesis is provided with an internal actuating bar positioned such that when any portion of the housing is compressed, the check valves within are opened allowing for deflation of the cylinders. The pump and valve assembly also includes a textured surface over a portion of the housing to allow for quick identification of the component, as well as to make it easier for the patient to grasp it. The valve assembly further comprising an actuating bar which has ribs to enhance the spring force applied to a flow valve, a support structure to support and appropriately position the actuating bar, and a check valve made of metal with a segment covered with a plastic material.
