摘要: A surgical incision apparatus and method for puncturing a cutaneous layer of a subject for providing guided access to a subcutaneous organ or subcutaneous cavity (or specified target region) of the subject. The apparatus may include a retention body configured for securing a cutting tool therein and a housing configured for receiving the retention body. The apparatus includes a guidewire holder member configured for receiving a guidewire therein and aligning with the guidewire to allow the cutting tool to travel along the guidewire. The retention body is configured to be movably attached relative to the housing to allow the retention body and cutting tool to advance toward the subject to a deployed position, and subsequently withdraw to a retracted position.

摘要: Embodiments include a method comprising determining histological factors at a target site of a subject, and determining parameters of a fractional resection based on the histological factors. The parameters include dimensionality of a fractional field, orientation of the fractional field, resection depth, and a vector of directed closure. The method includes configuring a cannula assembly for the fractional resection that includes a procedure to generate a fractional field at the target site by fractionally resecting tissue according to the parameters. The fractional resection includes applying a cannula array of the cannula assembly to the target site, and rotating at least one cannula of the cannula array to circumferentially incise and remove a plurality of skin plugs in the fractional field.

摘要: Described are surgical systems comprising a robotic device comprising a cutting tool, an actuation unit having at least two motorized rotational degrees of freedom about respective rotational axes that are substantially orthogonal to each other, and configured for adjusting a position and orientation of the cutting tool relative to each target plane, a planar mechanism connecting the last segment of the actuation unit to the cutting tool, a passive articulated lockable holding arm supporting the actuation unit, a tracking unit configured to determine in real time the pose of the cutting plane with respect to the coordinate system of the anatomical structure, a control unit configured to determine the pose of the cutting plane with respect to the target plane and to control the actuation unit to bring the cutting plane into alignment with the target plane.

摘要: Disclosed biopsy markers are adapted to serve as localization markers during a surgical procedure. Adaptation includes incorporation of materials detectable under ultrasound during surgery, as well as features for co-registration with image guidance or other real-time imaging technologies during surgery. Such biopsy markers, when used as localization markers, improve patient comfort and reduce challenges in surgical coordination and surgery time. Additional disclosed biopsy markers are adapted to serve as monitoring and/or detection apparatuses, Localization of an implanted marker may be done with ultrasound technology. Ultrasound image data is analyzed to identify the implanted marker. A distance to the marker or a lesion may be determined and displayed. The determined distance may be a distance between the ultrasound probe and the marker or lesion, a distance between the marker or lesion and an incision instrument, and/or a distance between the ultrasound probe and the incision instrument.

The incision device includes a knife and a knife tube that surrounds the knife. A third limiting unit limits the length of the cutting edge of the knife protruding from the knife tube.
