    Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for wireless communication. In an aspect, during a first synchronization wakeup period while RF circuitry and the FW circuitry are set to an active state, one or more measurements of one or more SSBs of a first SSBS from a base station. The UE predicts, during the first synchronization wakeup period while the RF circuitry and the FW circuitry are in the active state, a second SSBS at which to wake up for a second synchronization wakeup period based on the one or more measurements. In response to completion of FW post-processing operations, the UE transitions the RF circuitry and the FW circuitry from the active state to a sleep state.

    Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for adapting search, measurement, and loop tracking periodicities in new radio communications. A method that may be performed by a user equipment (UE) includes determining, based on one or more parameters, a first periodicity to perform a search to detect one or more component carriers (CCs), cells, beams, or a combination thereof; a second periodicity to perform measurement of one or more cells, beams, or both in one more detected CCs; and a third periodicity to perform loop tracking to monitor a downlink serving quality, an uplink serving beam quality, or both of a cell. The method may further includes performing the search at the determined first periodicity, measurement at the determined second periodicity, and loop tracking at the determined third periodicity.

    Abstract: A UE may be configured to select narrower or wider beams that may be suitable for use with a current UE mobility, scattering environment, etc. The UE may track changes to an identified beam of a certain width, and so may recover from tracking or other radio link failures by switching to a beam that is spatially adjacent or to a beam of a different width. The UE may identify a first beam associated with a first beam width based on at least one reference signal received by the UE. The UE may further determine a set of beams based on the first beam width that is associated with the identified first beam, and the determined set of beams may include at least one beam corresponding to the first beam width. The UE may further measure respective channel qualities associated with each beam of the determined set of beams.
