摘要： Synthetic aperture radar data is used in conjunction with altimeter data to produce a terrain map corrected for platform roll angle. The technique uses two synthetic radar antennas and a ranging altimeter placed on an aircraft. The aircraft is moved in a set of substantially parallel flight paths where each flight is directly over the strip of terrain viewed by the synthetic aperture radar of an adjacent flight. During each flight the at least one antenna repeatedly transmits radar signals whose return echoes are received by both the first and second antennas. Conventional synthetic aperture radar processing yields a terrain map uncorrected for roll angle. The uncorrected terrain map data from one flight are compared with the altimeter data taken during an adjacent flight. This permits the altimeter data to be used to determine the roll angle when the corresponding synthetic radar data was taken. This roll angle measure is then used to correct the height and ground range of nearby points in the uncorrected terrain map. The result is a terrain map corrected for roll angle in a manner more accurate than can be obtained by direct measurement of the roll angle.

The clasp lock is made adjustable to compensate for different sizes of articles being packaged in the same carton. In order to effect the adjustment of the lock between the closure panels, the primary locking tab is of a stepped height and the closure panel carrying the primary locking shoulders is cut so that the primary locking shoulders are also stepped with respect to the free edge of the associated closure panel. In the interlocking of the closure panel portions, the primary locking tab will automatically engage the proper primary locking shoulder in accordance with the objects which are being packaged within the carton.

A switch composed of a pivoting magnet and a magnetic switch can be used instead of the combination of the conductive pendulum and the curved electrical contact.

摘要： This relates to a carton for packaging a product which is to be processed in a microwave. The carton includes a top wall which is hinged to a portion of a rear wall and has a glue flap bonded to a removable portion of a front wall. The carton is formed of a delaminatable web with the top wall having transversely spaced score lines in opposite faces thereof whereby the carton is openable by removing the removable portion of the front wall and then peeling a major portion of the top wall from border portions thereof to open the carton. After the product has been removed, the top wall is swingable into the interior of the carton to form a support platform for the product. The support platform is positioned a predetermined distance above the bottom wall of the carton to provide for a maximum efficiency of the heating of the product within a microwave oven.

摘要： A technique for detecting non-surface objects from a moving platform using radiant ranging. The platform moves perpendicular to a line through a pair of first and second transducers. A transmitter repeatedly transmits a radiant signal via a first transducer. The return reflection signals in both transducers include return reflection signals from sparse non-surface objects in the presence of surface clutter reflections. Respective synthetic aperture complex images of resolution cell in slant range and Doppler frequency are formed from the received reflections of the two transducers. The complex phase factor between received reflections for each resolution cell in the absence of non-surface objects is determined. This is feasible because the non-surface objects are sparse, that is rare and generally encountered individually. Each resolution cell of the first synthetic aperture complex image is multiplied with the complex conjugate of the corresponding resolution cell of said complex phase factor. The resulting product signal is subtracted from the second synthetic aperture complex image. The resulting signal is non-zero (except for second order effects) only in the presence of a non-surface reflecting target. The technique may employ a third transducer permitting detection of non-surface objects at otherwise blind heights.

摘要： This relates to a lock arrangement particularly adapted for use in locking together closure panels of paper board cartons and the like. The lock arrangement utilizes a conventional basic type of lock including a primary locking tab and a secondary locking tab. The primary locking tab engages in a cutout having as part of its boundary a straight line primary locking shoulder. The new feature of the lock arrangement is an arrangement for receiving the secondary locking tab. This arrangement is in the form of a cut line which will define an opening through the associated closure panel and also define a secondary locking ear for engagement beyond a prong on the secondary locking tab. The closure panel in which the cutout and the cut line are formed is provided adjacent the cut line either with an opening or a hinged locking flap with there being between the cutout and either the opening or the locking flap a narrow strap. When a nose of the secondary locking tab engages the panel between the narrow strap and the cut line, the panel is locally bowed through a twisting of the narrow strap facilitating the opening of the panel along the cut line so as to automatically receive the nose of the secondary locking tab.
