    Abstract: A method, performed by a terminal, of negotiating an embedded universal integrated circuit card (eUICC) version in a wireless communication system includes: establishing a hypertext transfer protocol over secure socket layer (HTTPS) connection with a server; transmitting eUICC information including information about the eUICC version to the server through the HTTPS connection; and receiving server information corresponding to the eUICC information from the server, wherein the information about the eUICC version includes a minimum eUICC version and a maximum eUICC version that are available when the terminal accesses the server.

    Abstract: A method for downloading a profile of an electronic apparatus is provided. The method includes receiving profile information from a profile information transfer server, transmitting a profile request to an identified profile providing server based on the profile information, and receiving a profile installable in a universal integrated circuit card (UICC) of the electronic apparatus from the profile providing server, and an electronic apparatus. Further, the present disclosure may provide a profile information providing server providing the profile information to the electronic apparatus and an operation thereof, and a profile providing server providing a profile to the electronic apparatus and an operation thereof. Further, the present disclosure may provide a method for swapping a profile between apparatuses, a method for acquiring profile information using code information, a method for modifying a profile providing server, and an apparatus performing the same.

    Abstract: The disclosure relates to a communication technique for combining IoT technology with a 5G communication system for supporting a data transmission rate higher than that of a beyond-4G system, and a system therefor. The disclosure is applicable to intelligent services based on 5G communication technology and IoT-related technology (for example, smart homes, smart buildings, smart cities, smart cars or connected cars, health care, digital education, retail businesses, security and safety-related services). A method of a terminal includes receiving a request related to a first function from a profile server; identifying if the first function can be executed; identifying if it is possible to switch to a second function if the first function cannot be executed; and handling the request based on the second function if it is possible to switch to the second function. A terminal includes a transceiver and at least one processor. The at least one processor receives a remote management command from a profile server, determines if the remote management command can be handled, performs the received remote management command, switches the remote management command to a local management command if necessary according to the result of performing the remote management command, and controls the transceiver so as to transmit the result of performing the remote management command or the local management command to the profile server.
