    Abstract: A control apparatus transmits a confirmation request to confirm whether a direct communication is possible to each terminal as a target of the direct communication. Each terminal confirms whether the direct communication is possible and transmits the confirmation result to the control apparatus. The control apparatus judges whether the direct communication is possible based on the confirmation result transmitted from the terminal and when judging as possible, transmits a switch request for the direct communication to the terminal side. Consequently, a situation where a communication cannot actually be established when switching to the direct communication can be avoided.

    Abstract: Appropriate data communication is realized. A wireless communication device includes a communication unit and a control unit. The communication unit included in the device performs data transmission to a different device via one of frequency channels classified into a plurality of groups that includes a first group and a second group. On the other hand, the control unit detects a reference signal transmitted from the different device via one of the frequency channels belonging to the first group. The control unit further selects one of the frequency channels for the data transmission from the first group or the second group on the basis of a result of detection of the reference signal.
