Abstract: Described are various embodiments of a luminaire and output element coupling mechanism therefor. In one embodiment, a recessable luminaire comprises two or more luminaire modules, each one of which comprising a recessable housing having opposed side walls. The luminaire further comprises an output element securable along and between these side walls to at least partially define an output of the luminaire, and opposed inwardly biased output coupling structures extending at least partially along respective side walls and adapted to receive and resiliently secure corresponding edges of the output element therein.

Abstract: Disclosed is a coupling assembly for joining together a pair of light fixture segments at a joint interface therebetween to form a light fixture assembly, comprising a body rotatably mountable on a first of the light fixture segments about a central axis, the body configured to operably engage a drive tool with a drive axis thereof aligned with the central axis to rotate the body between a release position and a coupling position, the body having a designated receiving location to receive a complementary coupling element on a second of the light fixture segments, and configured to provide an arcuate pathway extending from designated receiving location, wherein the designated receiving location and pathway are configured to permit the complementary coupling element to travel along the pathway as the body rotates on the central axis, and thereby to laterally transfer the complementary coupling element radially toward the central axis to draw the first and second light fixture segment toward forming the joint interface when the body reaches the coupling position corresponding to the complementary coupling element reaching a corresponding position along the pathway.

Abstract: Disclosed is a grid lighting system having at least one housing segment with at least one lighting zone. At least one lighting module is selected from at least one track lighting module and/or at least one non-track lighting module. The at least one lighting zone extends along a first length dimension of the housing segment and including at least one first passage to receive the at least one track lighting module and/or non-track lighting module. The housing segment includes a first power supply segment to be coupled with a designated line voltage outlet to deliver line voltage power to the at least one lighting module in the at least one lighting zone. Each track lighting module includes a lighting subzone, with a second passage to receive one or more lighting submodules along a second length dimension. Abstract: A lighting assembly with a single edge lit optical configuration produces various asymmetric light distributions which provide targeted control of light output with peak intensity that is non-normal to the light guide output face. The compact form factor of the lighting assembly embodiments having narrow width are particularly well-suited for use in linear lighting applications requiring suspended, surface and recessed installations typically used to illuminate walls, floors and/or ceilings. The lighting assembly can also be selectively configured and oriented during assembly and installation to achieve various lighting distributions. Optical components within the lighting assembly are typically positioned and retained in optical alignment with internal support features of a linear housing. The optical configuration typically includes LED board, light guide, and one or more reflectors, and an optically transmitting component providing further control of the lighting distributions and a broader range of design choices. A variety of asymmetrical and symmetrical light distributions can be achieved with one or more peak intensities. Further embodiments utilize selective alignment of the light guide with one or more reflectors to achieve different light distributions.
