Each pixel displays a grayscale that is a sum of a first image displayed during an Nth frame and a second image displayed during an (N+1)th frame. N is an integer equal to or greater than 1. Abstract: A display device includes a display panel including a panel region. The panel region includes a block, and the block includes a pixel. The display device further includes a temperature sensor sensing a region temperature of the panel region and a temperature estimator estimating a temperature of the display panel. The temperature estimator includes a stress calculator calculating an accumulated stress value corresponding to the block based on input image data, a temperature potential calculator calculating a temperature potential corresponding to the block based on the accumulated stress value and a resistance model related to a heat diffusion within the display panel, and a temperature calculator calculating a block temperature based on the region temperature and the temperature potential. The temperature of the display panel is estimated based on the block temperature.
