Abstract:
A device management method and apparatus is provided for managing electronic devices through wireless communication. A device management method of a first device having a list of wireless communication-enabled devices according to the present disclosure includes transmitting a first message requesting second device information, when it is necessary to check connection status of a second device performing wireless communication with the devices contained in the list, comparing the second device previously stored information and the second device information contained in the second message, when a second message including the second device information is received in response to the first message, and transmitting a recovery command message with the first device information, when the second device information included in the second message differs from the previously stored second device information.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for a master gateway to register a device in a smart home network system. The method includes selecting performance parameters related to the device measured by at least two gateways including the master gateway; collecting, from the at least two gateways, at least one first information item about the performance parameters measured for the device capable of being registered in the at least two gateways; creating second information used to register the device, based on the at least one first information item, by the at least two gateways; and instructing one of the at least two gateways to register the device, based on the second information. The present invention relates to a sensor network, Machine Type Communication (MTC), Machine-to-Machine (M2M) communication, and technology for the Internet of Things (IoT). The present invention may be applied to intelligent services based on the above technologies, such as smart home, smart building, smart city, smart car, connected car, health care, digital education, smart retail, and security and safety services.
Abstract:
A method and an apparatus for validating device-to-device (D2D) communication devices in a server via a mobile terminal are provided. A 1st device-to-device (D2D) communication device includes a communication unit for communicating with a mobile terminal via D2D communication, and a controller. The controller is configured to control the communication unit to transmit digital signature information of the 1st D2D communication device to the mobile terminal, receive, when the digital signature information is successfully authenticated in a server, server public encryption information, from the mobile terminal, and transmit device information of the 1st D2D communication device, which is encrypted using the server public encryption information, to the server, and register the 1st D2D communication device in the server. The method and apparatus reduce user input for registering D2D communication devices in a server, increases user convenience, and decrease authentication time.
