An electronic device is provided. The electronic device includes a memory storing first authenticated fingerprint information, and a processor configured to obtain first fingerprint information corresponding to a first input, compare the first fingerprint information with the first authenticated fingerprint information during a first user authentication, perform a designated function when the first authenticated fingerprint information belongs to a first reference, temporarily store the first fingerprint information when the first authenticated fingerprint information belongs to a second reference, obtain second fingerprint information corresponding to a second input during a second user authentication, compare the second fingerprint information with the first authenticated fingerprint information during the second user authentication when the second input satisfies a designated reference in relation to the first input, store the temporarily stored first fingerprint information as second authenticated fingerprint information when the second authenticated fingerprint information belongs to the first reference, and perform the designated function.

An electronic device includes a connector for connecting to an external device; a battery; and a controller operatively coupled to the connector and the battery. The controller includes a power controller configured to: supply the external device with a first signal having a first voltage level in response to detecting that the external device is connected to the connector. The external device is supplied with a second signal having a second voltage level that differs from the first voltage level, in response to detecting that the external device is connected to an external power supply. The first signal is generated at least in part by the battery.

The method includes executing an application in a mobile terminal may include displaying icons corresponding to at least one application on a menu screen, extracting associated applications previously designated to have the same category as that of an application corresponding to a selected icon when the icon is selected in the menu screen, displaying at least one associated icon corresponding to the extracted associated application in an associated icon list form, and executing an application corresponding to the at least one associated icon when the at least one associated icon is selected in the associated icon list.

An electronic device including a noise reduction member is disclosed with a speaker and an antenna. The speaker includes a speaker core for generating sound in a first direction; a speaker housing at least partially enclosing the exterior of the speaker core and including a speaker hole positioned to overlap with the speaker core with respect to the first direction; and a noise reduction member including a conductive material and positioned on the outer surface of the speaker housing. The noise reduction member includes a shielding member having an opening on a surface facing perpendicularly to the first direction, the region at least partially overlapping the speaker core. The shielding member includes the conductive material surrounding the outer perimeter of the speaker hole on the outer surface of the speaker housing; and a conductive extension part formed by extension of the conductive material from the shielding member.

A foldable electronic device includes a first and second housings foldably coupled through a hinge, a flexible display supported by the first and second housings, a first speaker disposed in the first housing and a second speaker disposed in the second housing. The electronic device determines first and second states in which the first and second housings unfolded or folded. The electronic device controls sound frequency characteristics of the first and second speakers to have first sound frequency characteristics with the electronic device being in the first state. The electronic device controls sound frequency characteristics of the first speaker to have second sound frequency characteristics with the electronic device being in the second state. The electronic device may also control sound frequency characteristics of the second speaker to have third sound output frequency characteristics with the electronic device being in the second state.

A method and an apparatus for performing a search function by selecting a specific text displayed on a screen are provided. The method includes selecting a text displayed on a screen, extracting search keywords from the selected text and displaying the extracted search keywords, recognizing selection of at least one of the displayed search keywords, and performing a search using the at least one selected search keyword. Accordingly, a user can easily and conveniently search for desired information without directly inputting a search keyword in the search window.
