Abstract: Loudspeakers are described that may reduce comb filtering effects perceived by a listener by either 1) moving transducers closer to a sound reflective surface (e.g., a baseplate, a tabletop or a floor) through vertical (height) or rotational adjustments of the transducers or 2) guiding sound produced by the transducers to be released into the listening area proximate to the reflective surface through the use of horns and openings that are at a prescribed distance from the reflective surface. The reduction of this distance between the reflective surface and the point at which sound emitted by the transducers is released into the listening area may lead to shorter reflected path that reduces comb filtering effects caused by reflected sounds that are delayed relative to the direct sound. Accordingly, the loudspeakers shown and described may be placed on reflective surfaces without severe audio coloration caused by reflected sounds.

Abstract: A system processes an audio signal using spectrally orthogonal sound components. The system includes a circuitry that generates a mid component and a side component from a left channel and a right channel of the audio signal. The circuitry generates a hyper mid component including spectral energy of the side component removed from spectral energy of the mid component. The circuitry filters the hyper mid component, such as to provide spatial cue processing including panning or binaural processing, dynamic range processing, or other types of processing. The circuitry generates a left output channel and a right output channel using the filtered hyper mid component.

Abstract: Systems and methods for operating a multi-channel intercom system for audio communications between users, with reduced crosstalk, are disclosed. Exemplary implementations may: receive, by a first user station, a modulation carrier signal; capture a first audio signal from a first user, wherein the first audio signal has a first phase; at a rate based on the modulation carrier signal, invert the first phase of the first audio signal to generate a phase-flipped audio signal; transfer the phase-flipped audio signal to a second user station; at a second rate based on the modulation carrier signal, invert a phase of the phase-flipped audio signal to generate an intermediate audio signal; and present a second audio signal based on the intermediate audio signal to the second user.

Abstract: The invention relates to a system for generating sound waves for at least two separate zones of a single space. The system includes, for each zone of said space: at least one array of high-frequency loudspeakers forming a directional sound wave; and at least one low-frequency loudspeaker. The system also comprises means for audio processing of the signals transmitted to the loudspeakers, which means control at least one loudspeaker to generate destructive sound waves in at least one zone of said space and to obtain distinct sound contents in said at least two distinct zones of said space. To do this, the audio-processing means control each low-frequency loudspeaker individually and each array of high-frequency loudspeaker mutually in order to generate the destructive sound waves.

Abstract: The voice control device includes a sound source signal input unit, a frequency determination unit, a band controller, a sound image controller, and a voice output unit. The sound source signal input unit inputs a sound source signal of content from a sound source. The frequency determination unit determines a cutoff frequency. The band controller acquires a high frequency signal in a frequency band equal to or higher than the cutoff frequency and a low frequency signal in a frequency band equal to or lower than the cutoff frequency, from the sound source signal of the content. The sound image controller generates a plurality of sound image control signals for controlling sound images of the plurality of speakers, by controlling at least one of a phase and a sound pressure level of the high frequency signal. The voice output unit outputs the low frequency signal to a first speaker, and outputs the plurality of sound image control signals to a second speaker composed of a plurality of speakers.

Abstract: An amplification system which includes a source of electrical audio signals, a first amplifier, a second amplifier, a plurality of loudspeakers, and a first phase of the first amplifier and a second phase of the second amplifier reproduced in parallel having a time delay between first and second phase amplification for out of phase correction. The time delay is configured to correct poor sound signals while amplifying weaker harmonics and sound signals of different frequencies, thereby adjusting sound output of the amplification system and acoustical characteristics of a room. The amplification system is useful for providing improved sound quality and increased audio efficiencies.
