    Abstract: The disclosure relates to a 5G or 6G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate. A method performed by a first UE in a wireless communication system is provided. The method includes receiving, from a second UE, first SCI on a PSCCH, the first SCI including an SCI format field for a second SCI, in case that the SCI format field includes a first value corresponding to an SCI format for an SL PRS for a shared SL PRS resource pool, receiving, from the second UE, the second SCI corresponding to the SCI format on a PSSCH, and receiving, from the second UE, the SL PRS on the PSSCH based on the second SCI.

    Abstract: The disclosure relates to a 5th generation (5G) or 6th generation (6G) communication system for supporting higher data rates. A method performed by a terminal in a wireless communication system is provided. The method includes receiving, on a serving cell, information on a measurement for a pathloss associated with a physical random access channel (PRACH) transmission for non-serving cell, identifying a way of the measurement for the pathloss associated with the PRACH transmission, based on an indication of a cell specific measurement or a transmission configuration indication (TCI) specific measurement, or identifying the way of the measurement for the pathloss associated with the PRACH transmission, based on an indication of a layer 1 (L1) measurement or a layer 3 (L3) measurement, performing the measurement for the pathloss for a reference signal based on the identified way, and transmitting, on a candidate cell, the PRACH transmission based on the pathloss.

    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a 5G or 6G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate. The disclosure relates to a method by which a first terminal performs positioning through a sidelink in a wireless communication system, comprising the steps of: allocating a resource for transmitting a first sidelink positioning signal; transmitting the first sidelink positioning signal on the basis of the allocated resource; receiving, from at least one second terminal, a second sidelink positioning signal including a transmission/reception signal time difference of the at least one second terminal; measuring a transmission/reception signal time difference of the first terminal on the basis of the second sidelink positioning signal; and measuring terminal positioning on the basis of the transmission/reception signal time difference of the first terminal and the transmission/reception signal time difference of the second terminal, wherein the first sidelink positioning signal can include a first sidelink positioning reference signal (S-PRS), and the second sidelink positioning signal can include a second S-PRS.
