An electronic device and an operation method of an electronic device for video editing are provided. The electronic device include a processor electrically connected to display circuitry, wherein the at least one processor is configured to obtain a video, classify, based on a designated condition, image frames included in the video into at least one first type interval and at least one second type interval, distinguish at least one main part, based on image frames corresponding to at least one element included in the designated condition in the at least one first type interval, set a play speed of the at least one main part to be different from a play speed of at least one different part, control the display circuitry to display an edited preview video including the at least one main part reflecting the set play speed, and store the edited preview video in the memory.

An electronic device is provided. The electronic device includes a communication module which can communicate with an electronic pen, and a processor, wherein the processor may determine the state of the electronic device, determine the state of the electronic pen, and, when the state of the electronic pen is determined that the electronic pen is attached to the electronic device and an input from the electronic pen is received through the communication module, perform a function related to the electronic pen based on the determined state of the electronic device.

Methods and apparatus for image capturing are provided. A first camera mounted on a rear side of a mobile terminal, and a second camera mounted on a front side of a mobile terminal, are driven in an image capturing mode. A user's face is detected in a second image generated by the second camera. An alarm is generated that indicates that a first image is out of an intended image capturing area, when the user's face is not detected in the second image and when a difference is detected between the first image and a reference first image.

The a method includes recognizing one or more objects appearing on the screen, displaying guides indicating regions of the recognized objects on the screen, receiving a selection command for one of the recognized objects, and adjusting, upon reception of a size adjustment command, a size of the region of the selected object with respect to a first axis of the guide associated with the selected object or a second axis thereof perpendicular to the first axis, and displaying the size-adjusted region.

A method of providing augmented reality and a terminal supporting the same are provided. The terminal for supporting augmented reality includes: a display unit displaying a specific image during a preview image mode; and a controller recognizing at least one surface from the specific image according to a predetermined criteria, combining an image of a virtual object with the specific image so that the image of a virtual object is displayed on the recognized at least one surface, and controlling the display unit to output the combined image.

A method of connecting a call in an electronic device automatically sends a signal for connecting the call to a user of a selected contact object by only a gesture moving the electronic device to an ear so the user selects the contact object and an apparatus thereof. The method of connecting a call in the electronic device, includes: displaying a community service picture including at least one contact object; receiving an input where the contact object is selected in a state that the community service picture is displayed; receiving an input where a status of the electronic device is changed in a state that the contact object is selected; acquiring contact point information corresponding to the selected contact object when the contact object is selected and status change of the electronic device is detected; and automatically connecting a call using the acquired contact point information.
