摘要: There are disclosed a printing method and apparatus which can prevent an overcoat layer formed on the surface of a printing medium for the purpose of protecting a printed image from being torn off or peeling from the printing medium so that an overcoat agent will not become a contaminant and stain a print in the printing apparatus, cause image print abnormality, or become fine or powder dust in the environment. This apparatus prints an image on a printing medium having perforations that allow easy cutoff of margin portions by applying ink to the printing medium across the perforations, and forms a protection layer on the printing medium on which the image has been formed by transferring a protection agent avoiding the perforation portions.

摘要: Image reading apparatus having a D/A converter with a controllable output includes a light source for illuminating an original image. A reading device is provided for photoelectrically reading the original image illuminated by the light source and generating an analog image signal. A D/A converter is provided having a digital input terminal, an analog output terminal, and a reference terminal. The analog image signal generated from the reading device is applied to the reference terminal. The D/A converter attenuates the level of the analog image signal applied to the reference terminal based on a damping factor corresponding to the digital data applied to the digital input terminal. The thus-attenuated analog image signal is then output to the analog output terminal. An amplifier is provided for amplifying the attenuated analog image signal output from the analog output terminal of the D/A converter. An A/D converter is provided for converting the amplified analog image signal output from the amplifier into a digital image signal. Control circuitry is provided for controlling the digital data applied to the digital input terminal of the D/A converter to cause the analog image signal supplied to the A/D converter to have a predetermined level. This provides an analog image signal having a constant signal level even when the brightness of the light source, (e.g., a fluorescent lamp) varies widely.

摘要: A liquid accommodating container having a configuration that allows ink to be substantially used up, does not require an increase in size or a complicated construction, and can be fabricated at lower costs. The container includes an ink chamber for holding ink and having an upper air layer. A second chamber is provided in the upper air layer. A partition divides the second chamber into an ink absorber chamber that accommodates an ink absorber and a sub ink chamber for storing a small amount of ink. A third chamber defines a space between the atmosphere and the ink absorber. An upper portion of the sub ink chamber adjacent to the ink chamber is open so as to provide communication between the upper air layer and the atmosphere through the intermediary of the sub ink chamber and the ink absorber chamber in this order. An atmosphere communicating hole is defined. A print head that discharges ink of the ink chamber is provided at the bottom of the container.

摘要: A recording apparatus, which uses an ink sheet having ink of plural colors coated sequentially thereon and transferring ink to a recording medium for recording in accordance with image data, is capable of recording on a plurality of recording media having different sizes, at the same time, being capable of using selectively plural ink sheets each corresponding to each of the plural recording media of different sizes. This recording apparatus comprises a device for detecting the size of a recording medium to detect the size of the recording medium to be used for recording; a device for detecting the size of an ink sheet to detect the size of a recording medium corresponding to the ink sheet to be used for recording; and controlling a device to control the recording operation in accordance with the size of the detected recording medium and the size of the recording medium corresponding to the detected ink sheet. With these devices thus arranged, it is made possible to record without recording improperly any smaller images that may be unfit for the size of the recording sheet or staining the platen and others in the interior of the apparatus even when the recording medium and the ink sheet installed thereon are different in its sizes or the user does not designate the size of the recording medium to be used.

摘要: In a printing hammer driving system, there is provided a character-bearing member having a plurality of identical characters disposed in mutually offset relationship in each of lines. The characters in each of the lines differ from those in any other line. A group of hammers is disposed in opposed relationship with the character-bearing member for impacting the characters thereon. A group of driving circuits is connected to the group of hammers for driving respective ones of the hammers. A group of gates is connected to the inputs of the group of driving circuits for selecting the hammers. Each of the gates has at least two input terminals. Memory means are provided which each have the output thereof connected to one of the input terminals of each gate for storing print digit information. Selector means are provided which each are connected to the other input terminal of each gate for selecting one or more of the gates.

摘要: A video data processing system includes a CPU, a video memory, video data shift registers, a ternary counter, an octal counter, a blanking counter, and a flip-flop. Video data is shifted in the shift registers in response to an output from the ternary counter. The outputs from the ternary counter are counted by the octal counter, and an output from the octal counter is counted by the blanking counter so as to count down a blanking parameter. A borrow output from the blanking sets the flip-flop to hold video data which is then stored in the video memory. This operation is repeated up to the last H along the main scanning direction. The initial value of the blanking parameter is incremented by one by one to repeat main scanning inputs along a subscanning direction.
