摘要: In a printing hammer driving system, there is provided a character-bearing member having a plurality of identical characters disposed in mutually offset relationship in each of lines. The characters in each of the lines differ from those in any other line. A group of hammers is disposed in opposed relationship with the character-bearing member for impacting the characters thereon. A group of driving circuits is connected to the group of hammers for driving respective ones of the hammers. A group of gates is connected to the inputs of the group of driving circuits for selecting the hammers. Each of the gates has at least two input terminals. Memory means are provided which each have the output thereof connected to one of the input terminals of each gate for storing print digit information. Selector means are provided which each are connected to the other input terminal of each gate for selecting one or more of the gates.

摘要: A liquid accommodating container having a configuration that allows ink to be substantially used up, does not require an increase in size or a complicated construction, and can be fabricated at lower costs. The container includes an ink chamber for holding ink and having an upper air layer. A second chamber is provided in the upper air layer. A partition divides the second chamber into an ink absorber chamber that accommodates an ink absorber and a sub ink chamber for storing a small amount of ink. A third chamber defines a space between the atmosphere and the ink absorber. An upper portion of the sub ink chamber adjacent to the ink chamber is open so as to provide communication between the upper air layer and the atmosphere through the intermediary of the sub ink chamber and the ink absorber chamber in this order. An atmosphere communicating hole is defined. A print head that discharges ink of the ink chamber is provided at the bottom of the container.

摘要: In order to print an image at a high speed without using any large-capacity power supply unit, the image to be printed is segmented into grayscale-specific areas before printing, and the cumulative number of printing elements required to print the respective grayscale-specific areas is counted to predict a necessary power. On the basis of the prediction result, the image is then printed by selecting the highest convey speed from convey speeds at which upper limit powers used and rated average power consumption are determined. This makes it possible to provide an image printing method and apparatus which can realize high-speed image printing.

摘要: There are disclosed a printing method and apparatus which can prevent an overcoat layer formed on the surface of a printing medium for the purpose of protecting a printed image from being torn off or peeling from the printing medium so that an overcoat agent will not become a contaminant and stain a print in the printing apparatus, cause image print abnormality, or become fine or powder dust in the environment. This apparatus prints an image on a printing medium having perforations that allow easy cutoff of margin portions by applying ink to the printing medium across the perforations, and forms a protection layer on the printing medium on which the image has been formed by transferring a protection agent avoiding the perforation portions.

摘要: Image reading apparatus having a D/A converter with a controllable output includes a light source for illuminating an original image. A reading device is provided for photoelectrically reading the original image illuminated by the light source and generating an analog image signal. A D/A converter is provided having a digital input terminal, an analog output terminal, and a reference terminal. The analog image signal generated from the reading device is applied to the reference terminal. The D/A converter attenuates the level of the analog image signal applied to the reference terminal based on a damping factor corresponding to the digital data applied to the digital input terminal. The thus-attenuated analog image signal is then output to the analog output terminal. An amplifier is provided for amplifying the attenuated analog image signal output from the analog output terminal of the D/A converter. An A/D converter is provided for converting the amplified analog image signal output from the amplifier into a digital image signal. Control circuitry is provided for controlling the digital data applied to the digital input terminal of the D/A converter to cause the analog image signal supplied to the A/D converter to have a predetermined level. This provides an analog image signal having a constant signal level even when the brightness of the light source, (e.g., a fluorescent lamp) varies widely.

摘要: Disclosed is an electronic apparatus provided with a printer for printing characters on a recording material with at least two different colors of ink. The apparatus has means for setting a special printing mode. In the special printing mode, data are printed with ink in the first color while printing a background pattern with ink in the second color thereby forming a print with a background pattern.
