    摘要: A video tape recorder enables a normal video signal for an aspect ratio of 4:3 or a wide-picture video signal for a greater aspect ratio of, for example, 16:9 to be selectively recorded/reproduced onto and from a magnetic tape. In order to identify which of the aspect ratios the reproduced video signal is based on, a recording mode signal indicative of the aspect ratio is recorded on the magnetic tape together with the video signal. A code signal or a pilot signal is used for the recording mode signal. In the reproducing operation, the aspect ratio of a reproduced picture is recognized from the recording mode signal, and a signal indicative of the aspect ratio is delivered to an external device, such as a television set, together with reproduced video/audio signals. In a case where the reproduced picture is a wide picture and where the external device does not conform to the wide picture, the aspect ratio of the video signal is changed. A television set suited to the features of the video tape recorder is also disclosed.

    摘要: A reproducing circuit for use in a magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus having a recording circuit operable to record a video luminance signal in either a conventional recording mode or in a High-Band mode has a first automatic gain control circuit for holding a level of a reproduced FM signal at an input thereof constant, a recording mode determination circuit having an input connected to the first automatic gain control circuit and responsive to an output of the first automatic gain control circuit for determining which the first or second recording mode is used to record the FM signal under reproduction, a first equalizer circuit for equalizing the reproduced FM signal suitably for the first recording mode, a second equalizer circuit for equalizing the reproduced FM signal suitably for the second recording mode, a switch circuit for selecting an output of either the first equalizer circuit or the second equalizer circuit according to an output of the recording mode determination circuit, a second automatic gain control circuit for holding an output level of the switch circuit, whereby the recording mode of the signal undergoing reproduction is automatically determined and the characteristics of the reproducing circuit is changed automatically suitably.

    摘要: In transmission of stream data protected for copyright on a bus, transcription of stream data once recorded on a recording apparatus to a medium of another recording apparatus is realized. Authentication is carried out between a stream recording and playback apparatus and another recording apparatus to interchange a key for data scramble. By using this key, data is added with copy control information used when the data is recorded initially and thereafter the data is transmitted. After the data has been recorded on the recording apparatus, the data is deleted from an original recording medium. During transmission of the data, authentication from a different apparatus is rejected to prevent a plurality of copies from being made.

    摘要: A winding unit is provided in which one-way clutches for driving and braking are mounted in the inner surface of the reel and a web such as a cover tape 39 is wound by intermittently rotating the reel. Tension acting on the web can be released during replacement of the reel. A spring type torque limiter 18 is disposed between the reel boss 25 and outer rings 12, 12′ of the one-way clutches 9, 11 for driving and braking. The torque limiter 18 is arranged such that, during rotation in the winding direction, a coil spring 27 locks to transmit torque, and when the reel is forcibly turned in the unwinding direction, slip occurs, thus releasing the tension in the web.

    摘要: An emergency resumption processing apparatus for an information processing system includes a program pattern writing part established within a central processing unit, which writing part writes a program pattern that causes a watchdog timer to provide an overflow action in a loading area of the emergency resumption processing program on the main memory device of the information processing system. An emergency resumption processing program loading part established within the same central processing unit reads the emergency resumption processing program from an external memory device after the writing process has been completed, and loads it on the main memory device by rewriting the program pattern written by the program writing part. As a result, if a fault arises in the transmission function of the emergency resumption processing program and the central processing unit starts to run the program on the main memory device without the emergency resumption processing program being loaded on the main memory device, the watchdog timer never becomes accidentally reset and properly detects a system abnormality, since the program pattern written in the main memory device by the program pattern writing part is run.
