摘要： A reproducing circuit for use in a magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus having a recording circuit operable to record a video luminance signal in either a conventional recording mode or in a High-Band mode has a first automatic gain control circuit for holding a level of a reproduced FM signal at an input thereof constant, a recording mode determination circuit having an input connected to the first automatic gain control circuit and responsive to an output of the first automatic gain control circuit for determining which the first or second recording mode is used to record the FM signal under reproduction, a first equalizer circuit for equalizing the reproduced FM signal suitably for the first recording mode, a second equalizer circuit for equalizing the reproduced FM signal suitably for the second recording mode, a switch circuit for selecting an output of either the first equalizer circuit or the second equalizer circuit according to an output of the recording mode determination circuit, a second automatic gain control circuit for holding an output level of the switch circuit, whereby the recording mode of the signal undergoing reproduction is automatically determined and the characteristics of the reproducing circuit is changed automatically suitably.

摘要： A magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus of a cassette type has a first and a second recording mode converting a luminance signal of a video signal into an FM luminance signal having a first and a second carrier frequency and recording the FM luminance signal on a magnetic tape respectively. When the FM luminance signal is to be recorded according to the second recording mode, a magnetic tape having an excellent short wavelength recording characteristic is used for recording. A cassette containing this magnetic tape is provided with a configurational feature on its upper or lower half, and a detector for detecting this feature is disposed in the apparatus. When the detector detects that a magnetic tape is adapted for recording according to the first recording mode, the FM luminance signal is recorded according to the first recording mode, but when the detector detects that the magnetic tape is adapted for recording according to the second recording mode, the user can select either the first recording mode or the second recording mode as desired. A discriminating circuit is disposed in the reproducing system to discriminate as to whether the FM luminance signal was recorded according to the first recording mode or the second recording mode, and, on the basis of the result of discrimination by the discriminating circuit, the reproduced FM luminance signal is automatically processed in a processing circuit with a processing characteristic corresponding to the recording mode.

摘要： Practical speaker connection is identified using a device having a sound channel of a 5.1 channel or 7.1 channel, and a device is provided that can easily reproduce the optimum multiple channels. Actual speaker arrangement can be identified by, for example, measuring the impedance of a terminal at the side of an audio amplifier. If incorrect connection is found, a warning is issued. This information is transmitted to a signal source with an EDID and a signal with the optimum a number of sound channel is sent. The EDID is also used for the connection with a display unit and the speaker connection with which the display unit is provided uniquely. For example, a sound through the 7.1 channel is easily reproduced using the speaker of the display unit in the channel of the front speaker.

摘要： In a digital information recording/reproducing apparatus, information recorded on a hard disk with copy restriction thereof is protected from being copied onto other hard disks by means of a PC, etc., to be produced a large number of illegal copies, i.e., infringing a copyright.The information is recorded onto a hard disk drive through encryption thereof, with using an identification being number unique thereto, when it is recorded onto the hard disk. With this, normal reproduction is prevented, since the drive identification number necessary for decryption is different from, even if it is copied onto the other hard disk. Also, a version information of the hard disc is memorized in an information management circuit. When the information is illegally copied onto the other hard disc, the version information is changes; therefore it does not coincide with the version information memorized in the information management circuit. With this, illegal reproduction of the information copied can be prohibited in the reproducing operation.

The apparatus includes a circuit for detecting that digital data indicating the still picture is reproduced by an amount of data corresponding to the one-cut still picture, a switch which is operated by a person who monitors pictures and used to instruct restart of the magnetic tape, and a logic circuit. The logic circuit generates an instruction for switching the reproduced signal output from the moving picture to the still picture on the basis of the output of the detection circuit, and instruction for rewinding the magnetic tape to a position near the recording start position of the digital data indicating the still picture and for stopping the magnetic tape thereat, and instruction for switching the reproducing signal output from the still picture to the moving picture signal when the switch is operated, and an instruction for causing the magnetic tape to travel once again at the normal traveling speed for reproducing a moving picture signal.
