    摘要: In order to prevent terminal fittings of a card edge connector from short circuiting, a housing 11 is provided with a short circuit preventing member 50 made from insulating material. This short circuit preventing member 50 can be moved between a short circuit preventing position, between resilient contacts 42 of terminal fittings 40 provided at mutually opposing upper and lower locations, and a retreated position, which is to the posterior of the short circuit preventing position. Since the upper and lower terminal fittings 40 are prevented from short circuiting when the short circuit preventing member 50 is in the short circuit preventing position, the resilient contacts 42 are bendable to a greater degree, thus increasing their contacting force with contacts of a card edge connector.

    摘要: A wavelength dispersion probing system for determining a value of wavelength dispersion and its sign and reducing the trouble and time required for this determination. This wavelength dispersion probing system comprises light sources 10, 12, light attenuators 14, 16, optical multiplexer 18, phase modulator 20, optical amplifiers 22, 26, acoustooptical modulator 24, optical receiver 30. The intensity ratio of two wavelengths is set at 1 to 2 to detect Stalk light or anti-Stalk light included in the return light of an optical fiber 100 by the optical receiver 30, so that wavelength dispersion is probed. The wavelength dispersion is probed by changing the intensity ratio of the two wavelengths to observe the state of the change of the wavelength dispersion, so that the sign of wavelength dispersion is determined by the optical receiver 30.

    摘要: The present invention is directed toward realizing a measurement method that enables finding the intensity waveform of optical short-pulse as well as the change in chirp frequency over time at a high resolution. Such a method involves irradiating an optical short-pulse that is to be measured at a delay time .tau. upon a first photoconductor that enters a conductive state when irradiated by light and upon a second photoconductor that enters a conductive state only when irradiated by light while the first photoconductor is in a conductive state. In this way, the autocorrelation waveform of optical short-pulse that is to be measured is found; the result F(.omega.) of a Fourier transform of the autocorrelation waveform of optical short-pulse to be measured is found; and this result is divided by the result of a Fourier transform of the cross-correlated waveform h.sub.12 (.tau.) of the impulse response waveform h.sub.1 (t) of the first photoconductor and the impulse response waveform h.sub.2 (t) of the second photoconductor to find the intensity power spectrum .vertline.I(.omega.).vertline..sup.2 from which the response characteristics of the photoconductors are eliminated, and finding short-pulse waveform from above-described .vertline.I(.omega.).vertline..sup.2 and field power spectrum .vertline.E(.omega.).vertline..sup.2.

When a plurality of auxiliary connectors (6) of the same type are mounted into a frame (2), the number of the terminal fittings to be inserted into the individual auxiliary connector (6) is decided based on connection loads per terminal fitting to ensure that an operation load of the auxiliary connector (6) does not exceed an upper-limit value, and the same number of terminal chambers (7) as the decided number of the terminal fittings are formed in the auxiliary connector (6). Thus, regardless of the specifications of the female terminal fittings (8), the female terminal fittings (8) can be mounted into all the terminal chambers 7 without exceeding the upper-limit value of the operation load of the auxiliary connectors (6).
