    摘要: The present invention relates to a resin emulsion being produced by neutralizing a resin binder containing acid group with a basic compound in an aqueous medium wherein the resin binder containing acid group contains a polyester produced from a raw monomer composition containing a trivalent or higher-valent polyhydric alcohol in an amount of 1 to 15 mol %; a process for producing the resin emulsion; and a toner for electrophotography using the resin emulsion. In the resin emulsion of the present invention, a resin is readily emulsified therein even when using a crosslinked polyester as the resin, and the resin emulsion is substantially free from hydrolysis of the resin and can produce a toner having an excellent heat-resistant storage property.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a toner for electrophotography which exhibits an excellent heat-resistant storage property and a wide fusing temperature range, and a process for producing the toner for electrophotography. There are provided a process for producing a toner for electrophotography which includes (A) a step of emulsifying a resin binder containing a polyester having a constitutional unit derived from a trivalent or higher-valent carboxylic acid in an aqueous medium; (B) a step of aggregating emulsified particles contained in an emulsion obtained in the step (A); and (C) a step of coalescing aggregated particles obtained in the step (B), said process further including the following steps which are to be conducted after the step (A): (a) a step of adding a compound having at least one functional group selected from the group consisting of an oxazoline group and a glycidyl group; and (b) a step of forming a chemical bond between the compound having the at least one functional group and the resin binder containing the polyester, as well as a toner for electrophotography obtained by the process.

    摘要: The toner of the present invention is characterized in that the charges rise up rapidly, the charge quantity is not insufficient nor excessive, the photoreceptor contamination is minimized and the toner is endurable under harsh conditions and against the high stress usage. The magnetic particle contained in the toner is of average particle size 0.01 μm through 0.50 μm, is of octahedron shape that is a convex polyhedron surrounded by eight triangles as a basis, each of vertexes and edges of the octahedron being in a curved surface shape and having a portion that can be taken as a straight line on the outer periphery of a projected image of said octahedron. The sphericity of the toner is 0.94 through 0.98. Here, the sphericity is defined by C2/C1, where C1 is a circumferential length of an image projected on a plane and C2 is a circumferential length of an assumed circle area as same as that of the projected image. Further, a number content of the toner of particle size 0.6 μm through 2.0 μm is smaller than 10%.

The latent image is developed by the magnetic toners in the magnetic ears, in a small gap between the developing roller and the photoreceptor.
