    Abstract: An upper end portion and a lower end portion of a second magnetic portion of a coil component are further away from a coil than when a third part and a fifth part are not present. For this reason, a magnetic flux is unlikely to be concentrated in the upper end portion and the lower end portion of the second magnetic portion, so that magnetic saturation is unlikely to occur. Therefore, improvement of direct current superimposition characteristics is realized in the coil component.

    Abstract: A coil component having high inductance while suppressing core loss is obtained. The coil component includes a coil and a magnetic core. The magnetic core has a laminated body in which soft magnetic layers are laminated. Micro gaps are formed in the soft magnetic layers. The soft magnetic layers are divided into at least two or more small pieces by the micro gaps. A structure made of Fe-based nano-crystals is observed in the soft magnetic layers.

    Abstract: In a planar coil element, since an overlapping portion of a fourth resin wall of a first conductor pattern protrudes from an end surface of a main body portion, restriction on a width of the overlapping portion is relaxed, and the wide overlapping portion is realized. Therefore, an improvement in a withstand voltage between the second external terminal electrode formed on the end surface and an outermost turn of the first conductor pattern is realized. Similarly, regarding the second conductor pattern, the improvement in the withstand voltage between the first external terminal electrode formed on the end surface and an outermost turn of the second conductor pattern is realized.

    Abstract: In a planar coil element, a dead space in a non-overlapping region is reduced by designing a total width of a first resin wall and a first turn located in the non-overlapping region to be narrow, more specifically, by designing the total width to be narrower than a total width of a second turn outside the first turn and a second resin wall located inside the turn and also than a total width of a third turn on the outer side and a third resin wall located inside the turn. As a result, a volume of a magnetic element body in a magnetic core portion of a coil can be increased, and an, inductance value, which is a magnetic characteristic, can also be improved.

    Abstract: A coil component 1 includes a substrate 2, a planar spiral conductor 10a formed on a top surface 2t of the substrate 2, a lead conductor 11a connected to an outer peripheral end of the planar spiral conductor 10a, a dummy lead conductor 15a formed on the top surface of the substrate 2 and between an outermost turn of the planar spiral conductor 10a and an end 2X2 of the substrate 2 and free from an electrical connection with another conductor within the same plane, external electrodes 26a and 26b arranged in parallel with the top surface of the substrate 2, and a bump electrode 25a formed on a surface of the lead conductor 11a and connects the lead conductor 11a with the external electrode 26a. The external terminals 26a and 26b have a larger area than the bump electrodes 15a and 15b for securing a bonding strength.

    Abstract: In the coil component, the coupling coefficient can be adjusted by the magnetic sheet and the insulator interposed between the pair of coils. For example, by increasing the magnetic permeability of the magnetic sheet so that the magnetic flux generated in the coil easily passes through the magnetic sheet, the coupling coefficient decreases.     Abstract: In a coil component, fixing strength of an external terminal is improved. In the coil component, on the end face of the element body, the center position of the external terminal electrode in the first direction is biased toward the center position of the end face with respect to the center position of the outer end portion. Therefore, the fixing area between the external terminal electrode and the element body is increased on the center position side of the end face, and thus fixing strength between the external terminal electrode and the element body is improved.

    Abstract: In a coil component, coupling coefficient is improved. In the coil component, the coupling position between the outer end portion of the first planar coil and the first lead-out portion is biased toward the second lead-out portion with respect to the center line of the first lead-out portion, whereby the length of the second planar coil not alongside with the outermost turn of the first planar coil is shortened. By shortening the length of the second planar coil, the coupling coefficient between the first coil portion and the second coil portion is increased.
