Abstract: Disclosed herein is a negative electrode for non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery that includes a negative electrode current collector, and a negative electrode active material layer. An area change rate and a thickness change rate of the negative electrode active material layer associated with charging are 0.1% or more and 10% or more, respectively. A triangular region having an intersection between first and second straight lines, a first point existing on the first straight line and being away from the intersection in the first direction toward the first side by a first distance, and a second point exists on the second straight line and being away from the intersection in the second direction toward the second side by a second distance, as vertices are cut away such that the triangular region has neither the negative electrode current collector nor the negative electrode active material layer.

Abstract: In a first region of a first conversion portion, a length of an upper tapered portion in a third direction continuously increases from a first length at a first end to a second length toward an intermediate position, and a length of a lower tapered portion in the third direction continuously increases from the first length at the first end to a third length, which is longer than the second length, toward the intermediate position. In a second region of the first conversion portion, a length of the upper tapered portion in the third direction continuously increases from the second length at the intermediate position to a fourth length, which is shorter than the third length, toward a second end, and a length of the lower tapered portion in the third direction continuously decreases from the third length at the intermediate position to the fourth length toward the second end.

Abstract: A Y-branch type optical coupler includes an optical coupling part to which a plurality of input-side optical waveguides through which the plurality of lights propagate, and one output-side optical waveguide are connected, wherein the optical coupling part has an isosceles trapezoid shape of which the width is narrowed in a taper shape at a first angle α from the input side to the output side (a traveling direction of light) in a plan view, at least two input-side optical waveguides among the plurality of input-side optical waveguides are disposed symmetrically with respect to a symmetry axis of the isosceles trapezoid, are inclined at a second angle θ that is different from the first angle α, and are connected to a lower bottom portion of the isosceles trapezoid, and the difference between the first angle and the second angle is 0.9° or more and 14.8° or less.

Abstract: This optical coupler for coupling a plurality of visible light beams having different wavelengths includes: a substrate made of a material different from lithium niobate; and an optical coupling function layer formed on a main surface of the substrate. The optical coupling function layer includes: two multimode-interference-type optical coupling parts; optical-input-side waveguides and an optical-output-side waveguide connected to one multimode-interference-type optical coupling part, and optical-input-side waveguides and an optical-output-side waveguide connected to the other multimode-interference-type optical coupling part. The multimode-interference-type optical coupling parts, the optical-input-side waveguides, and the optical-output-side waveguides are made of a lithium niobate film.
