    Abstract: A system, includes a controller configured to obtain, for an image frame stored in a frame memory image, data associated with a color component and generate dithered bit planes having a dither noise pattern, the dithered bit planes including time repeated bit plane sequences in the image frame. The system also includes a spatial light modulator (SLM) coupled to the controller. The SLM is configured to project an image of the image frame according to the dithered bit planes. Additionally, the system includes a light source optically coupled to the SLM. The light source is configured to provide light for projecting the image.

    Abstract: A device includes a memory and at least one processor coupled to the memory. The at least one processor is configured to obtain an image and determine a parent cluster of pixels of an image having a centroid.     Abstract: System and method for generating multiprimary signals with optimization for bit depth for use in display devices. A preferred embodiment comprises converting an input color signal into an output color signal, wherein the number of colors in the output color signal is less than a number of colors used in a display system, when a weighting of the input color signal is less than a specified threshold, and converting the input color signal into an output color signal, wherein the number of colors in the output color signal is equal to the number of colors used in the display system, when the weighting of the input color signal is greater than the specified threshold. The use of fewer colors eliminates low bit depth colors, allowing increased dither quality in dimmer images.
