Abstract: A device includes at least one processor configured to partition a source image including image components into sub-images, each including a corresponding image component of the image components, and process each sub-image to produce a target image to be projected for each sub-image of the sub-images. The device also includes one or more light sources coupled to the at least one processor and configured to project an incident light, and a phase projection-based display device coupled to the at least one processor and optically coupled to the one or more light sources and configured to modulate, based on the target image of each sub-image, the incident light to separately project the sub-images.

Abstract: An apparatus includes a focusing lens, a SLM optically coupled to the focusing lens and comprising micromirrors on a surface of the SLM, where the focusing lens is tilted at an incident angle relative to the surface of the SLM, an incident light beam is illuminated on the SLM at the incident angle, and the incident angle is greater by an offset angle than twice a tilt angle of the micromirrors with respect to the surface of the SLM. The apparatus also include an actuator optically coupled to the SLM, and projection optics optically coupled to the actuator.

Abstract: A depth imaging system includes an optical image sensor, an optical beam steering system, an object identification system, and a depth measurement system. The object identification system is coupled to the optical image sensor. The object identification system is configured to identify an object in an image captured by the optical image sensor. The depth measurement system is coupled to the optical beam steering device. The depth measurement system is configured to, responsive to identification of the object by the object identification system: direct an optical signal, via the optical beam steering device, to the object, and to determine a distance to the object based on a time-of-flight of the optical signal.
