Abstract: In some examples, a gate driver includes a gate sense pin and a gate sense circuit configured to couple to a node of a transistor via the gate sense pin. The gate sense circuit includes an overcurrent detection circuit configured to detect a first fault condition based on the node before the transistor turns on in a soft switching mode. The gate sense circuit also includes a Miller plateau detection circuit configured to detect a second fault condition based on the node when the transistor is turning on in a hard switching mode.

Abstract: An apparatus and method of detecting movement of a plunger of the solenoid includes detecting a peak (IPEAK) in a current signal applied to a coil of the solenoid. A predetermined threshold is added to the current signal applied to the coil of the solenoid to generate a level shifted signal. The level shifted signal and the peak signal are compared to detect movement of a plunger of the solenoid.

Abstract: A current measurement circuit includes first, second, and third conductors, a first current sensor, a second current sensor, and current computation circuitry. The first conductor is configured to conduct a first phase current of a three-phase current. The second conductor is configured to conduct a second phase current of the three-phase current. The third conductor is configured to conduct a third phase current of the three-phase current. The first current sensor is coupled to the first, the second, and the third conductors. The second current sensor is coupled to the second conductor and the third conductor. The current computation circuitry is coupled to the first current sensor and the second current sensor, and is configured to determine the first current, the second current, and the third current by applying an inverse Clarke transform to the output of the first current sensor and the output of the second current sensor.

Abstract: An electronic circuit for controlling a power switch having a gate input, includes a signal generator configured to generate a gate driver input signal. The gate driver input signal has a first voltage during a first period of time, a second voltage during a second period of time, and toggles between the first voltage and the second voltage during a third period of time. The electronic circuit also includes a gate driver configured to receive the gate driver input signal and to provide a gate driver output signal based on the gate driver input signal. The signal generator is configured to cause the gate driver input signal to toggle during the third period of time such that the gate driver output signal has a third voltage during the second period of time, and an intermediate voltage that is less than the third voltage during the third period of time.
