Abstract: Provided are methods comprising presenting a sensory environment to an individual experiencing the effects of a psychoactive agent, monitoring the neural status, the physiological status, or both, of the individual, and presenting a modified sensory environment to the individual based on the monitoring. In certain embodiments, the agent is a psychedelic agent. According to some embodiments, presenting a sensory environment to the individual comprises presenting to the individual a visual stimulus, an auditory stimulus, a tactile stimulus, an olfactory stimulus, or any combination thereof. In certain embodiments, presenting a modified sensory environment to the individual comprises presenting a customized sensory environment to the individual in real-time based on the monitoring. In some embodiments, the individual is suffering from a mental health condition selected from depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), addiction, and any combination thereof. Systems that find use in practicing the methods of the present disclosure are also provided.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to methods and tools for enhancing cognition in an individual. The methods involve presenting to the individual multiple sets of stimuli. Each set of the multiple set contains two or more stimuli and at least one set of the multiple sets contains a target stimulus. The method then receives an input from the individual, and informs the individual as to whether the input is a correct response. The methods encompass iterations of stimuli presentation, receiving of the input, and lastly, generation of feedback to the individual until the individual learns and retains what the target stimulus is.

Abstract: Provided are methods of assessing and/or training cognitive fitness. Aspects of the instant methods generally relate to identifying and observing neural activity that underlies an event occurring in response to the stimulus or sequence of stimuli of a cognitive task performed by a subject. As such, the instant methods generally include presenting a cognitive task to a subject that includes a stimulus or sequence of stimuli, and monitoring the neural activity of the subject during performance of the cognitive task. Monitoring of such neural activity may be used, at least in part, to determine a neural performance level of a subject which may, in turn, be used in various ways including e.g., as an assessment of cognitive fitness, to tailor a subsequently presented cognitive task to train the cognitive fitness of the subject, etc. Systems and computer readable media for practicing the methods of the present disclosure are also provided.
