摘要: The invention provides a molecular affinity clamp. The architecture of the affinity clamp is modular with two biorecognition modules, each capable of binding a target motif. The first biorecognition module has a recognition domain that possesses inherent or natural specificity for the target motif. The second biorecognition module also has a recognition domain that binds the motif. The two biorecognition modules are tethered together either directly, e.g., via a peptide bond between the two modules, or indirectly, e.g., via a linker moiety or linker.

摘要: Method and apparatus for a system for sharing a business process in the form of a software application (computer program) between at least two organizations. The shared software application is typically in the form of one or more web pages having associated data and logic and accessed by a conventional web browser and transmitted over the Internet between the two organizations. The two organizations need not have a shared computer system or even a common computer operating system. The business process underlying the software application may be for instance a vendor/supplier relationship but can be other more complex relationships such as third party sales representatives, business consulting, or computer support. The system includes the ability to configure the business process in terms of the software application which would include business logic and draw on data in the form of a database maintained by one of the organizations. The system uses a host server which supports both the software application and the sharing process.

摘要: A piezoelectric resonator (10) includes a single crystal elongated plate (12) having a transverse extensional mode of oscillation. Two sets of split electrodes (20,22,30,32) are provided on the surfaces (14,16) of the plate (12) to define two acoustically coupled oscillating regions (24,26) therebetween. The oscillating regions (24,26) present a similar inductance and have similar performance to allow the use of the resonator (10) in a double-ended electrical transformer circuit (100). An AC source (112) drives non-opposing top and bottom electrodes of the resonator (110). The remaining electrodes are coupled with shunt capacitors to provide two resonant LC circuits with the resonator (110) so as to provide a voltage gain for driving a load.

摘要: A transformer circuit (10) for a piezoelectric transformer (12) having dual inputs which can piezoelectrically interfere with one another to provide adjustable output gain. The transformer circuit (10) provides two pulse-position-modulated input signals (18, 20) which are substantially identical waveforms, but being phase shifted from one another. When the signals (18, 20) constructively interfere maximum gain is achieved. When the two signals (18, 20) destructively interfere minimum gain is achieved. The waveforms may be of any arbitrary type including square, sine, triangle, sawtooth or irregular. Both input signals (18, 20) are at a resonant frequency of the piezoelectric transformer (12) and have a fifty percent duty cycle so as to always provide highest efficiency within the transformer (12). In addition, when the two input signals (18, 20) destructively interfere with each other piezoelectrically, the input impedance of the transformer (12) rises so as to lessen power dissipation within the transformer (12) which subsequently reduces adverse heating effects.

摘要: A method and an apparatus for determining leakage volume of fluid in transportation pipelines are provided. The method comprises: obtaining the negative pressure wave signals detected by at least two pressure sensors arranged on the pipeline; determining the pressure signal at the leakage location based on the negative pressure wave signals; determining the leakage rate during a leakage period based on the pressure signal at the leakage location according to a leakage model; and determining the leakage volume of the fluid in the pipeline based on the leakage rate and the leakage period. The apparatus provided corresponds to the method described above. By using the method and apparatus described above, the leakage volume of the transportation pipelines can be obtained to help understand the leakage profile of the pipelines and thus reduce losses.
