Abstract: Examples of systems and methods for locating movable objects such as carts (e.g., shopping carts) are disclosed. Such systems and methods can use dead reckoning techniques to estimate the current position of the movable object. Various techniques for improving accuracy of position estimates are disclosed, including compensation for various error sources involving the use of magnetometer and accelerometer, and using vibration analysis to derive wheel rotation rates. Also disclosed are various techniques to utilize characteristics of the operating environment in conjunction with or in lieu of dead reckoning techniques, including characteristic of environment such as ground texture, availability of signals from radio frequency (RF) transmitters including precision fix sources. Such systems and methods can be applied in both indoor and outdoor settings and in retail or warehouse settings.

Abstract: Disclosed are methods, apparatus, systems, and computer readable storage media for interacting with one or more data objects in an online social network. A user interface includes a publisher with a custom action. The custom action is defined in accordance with custom action instructions provided by a first entity via an application programming interface (API). Such custom action instructions may declaratively or programmatically define the data object, the interaction to be performed with the data object, and other attributes associated with the custom action. A user may request to interact with the data object via selection of the custom action by a second entity. Information may be submitted through the publisher to interact with the data object to update a database system associated with the data object. A feed item may be presented for inclusion in the information feed based on the update.

Abstract: A computing system can detect the launch of a rider application on computing devices of users of a transport service. The computing system can receive location data indicating the current location of each user, and determine a usage pattern for each user based on historical data corresponding to historical utilization of the transport service by the user. Based on the current location and the usage pattern of the user, the computing system can determine one or more suggested destination locations for the user, and transmit, over the one or more networks, display data to cause the rider application to display a destination accelerator for each of the one or more suggested destination locations. The destination accelerator can be selectable by the user to automatically input a destination location into a transport request for the transport service.
