    摘要： A reel apparatus for reeling a traveling web produced on a papermaking machine comprises a rotatable support drum which is fixedly mounted in a frame. A pair of parallel, horizontally disposed rails are mounted to the frame with the tops of the rails above the apex of the support drum. New reel spools are brought into supporting engagement on the rails at a location downstream of the apex of the support drum and intermediate the apex of the support drum and a jumbo-sized wound web roll which is being wound while being powered by a centerwind assist drive, as well as nipping engagement with the support drum. Each reel spool is supported in a pair of carriages which are mounted to travel over the rails. Hydraulic cylinders selectively move each pair of carriages reciprocally along the rails between a new-reel- spool-receiving, or ready, position, a reeling position where the reel spool/newly-started- wound-web roll is nipped against the support drum, a downstream position where the wound paper web roll is disengaged from its nip with the support drum, and an ejection position where the wound web roll is moved against stops at the far end of the rails away from the support drum.

    摘要： An electrical assembly in which electrical connection is made to a device having two laminar electrodes and a laminar element between the electrodes, preferably a circuit protection device in which a PTC conductive polymer element is sandwiched between two metal foil electrodes. Connection is made to at least one of the electrodes by a resiliently deformed clip having an active arm which contacts one of the electrodes, and a passive arm which is not in conductive contact with the other electrode. Preferably there is an auxiliary member between the active and passive arms of the clip. The auxiliary member can be an insulator, or a conductive member which is spaced apart from the other electrode but secured to the same face of the PTC element as the other electrode.

    摘要： A multi-axis fatigue testing device includes a multi-axis test fixture having a multiple input, multiple output mechanical linkage driven by a plurality of actuators and a controller operating each of the plurality of actuators in real time and in synchronization to produce user-defined multiple fatigue cycle profiles. At least one of the actuators driving the mechanical linkage acts against an artificial load characterized by a stiffness. The stiffness is selected to increase a resonance frequency of the test fixture to allow fatigue testing at higher frequencies for a wider range of samples.

    摘要： A disc drive head actuator includes a suspension structure and a slider integrated with the suspension structure. The actuator is one of at least two actuator assemblies batch-fabricated on a common substrate. The head actuator may be fabricated using mircofabrication techniques. The head actuator may have a reduced size, including package height relative to conventionally manufactured disc drives. Using mircofabrication and/or batch fabrication techniques provides reduced tolerances, which allows for increased actuation forces and/or reduced power consumption. Some embodiments include four-bar linkage actuators, which increase lateral stiffness of the actuator, allowing for a precise motion of the head relative to a media surface.
