摘要: A sheet feeder, which is included in an image forming apparatus and an image forming system, includes a sheet loader on which a sheet bundle is loaded, an air blower to blow air to the sheet bundle loaded on the sheet loader and float upper sheets of the sheet bundle, a loader elevation device to lift and lower the sheet loader, a reflective optical detector including a first reflective optical detector to detect the upper sheets floated by the air blower and a second reflective optical detector to detect multiple floating sheets located below the floating sheets detected by the first reflective optical detector, and a controller configured to control the loader elevation device to perform a lifting operation of the sheet loader based on a combination of an output value of the first reflective optical detector and an output value of the second reflective optical detector.

摘要: There are provided a plurality of slide rails that are attached to a sheet feeding device; a box-shaped pullout unit that is movable toward an image forming unit on the slide rails; a slide unit and an extended tray that are arranged in the front and back positions in a direction in which the pullout unit moves; a slide bottom plate that is movable up and down by a loading unit and that is slidable on the pullout unit in a horizontal direction; a front-edge sheet positioning unit that raises up when the slide bottom plate is pulled out in a horizontal direction and that falls down when the slide bottom plate is pushed in a horizontal direction; and a connection unit that connects to a handle for pulling out the pullout unit in a horizontal direction when the slide bottom plate is located at a lowest point.

The circuitry is configured to cause the lift to lift up the sheet stacker in response to a change from a detection state to a non-detection state of the second reflective optical sensor.

摘要: A sheet feeding device includes a sheet stacking table, an air blower, a feeder, and an air sucker. The sheet stacking table stacks a bundle of sheets. The air blower blows air to the bundle of sheets to float an uppermost sheet from the bundle of sheets. The feeder feeds the uppermost sheet. The air sucker sucks air in such a direction that a sheet in vicinity of the uppermost sheet moves away from the feeder. The air sucker includes a suction nozzle to suck air, a suction fan to generate a negative pressure, a suction duct to communicate the suction nozzle with the suction fan, and an opening-and-closing mechanism to shut off and release ventilation in the suction duct.

摘要: In the present invention, when a status of clogging a paper due to some cause occurs, controls of inverting a conveyance roller and returning the jammed paper in a paper feeding tray is performed. At this time, the position of a paper damming up member is lowered by an actuator when the jammed paper is returned to the paper feeding tray and the conveyance roller is inverted so as to avoid a state in which the paper damming up member 33 hinders the returning of the paper and the paper cannot be returned to the paper feeding tray. The paper damming up member is lowered to a position that is lower than a conveyance guide plate at a downstream side in a paper conveying direction. Then, the paper is returned to the paper feeding tray without damage. The returned paper can be reused.

The end fence includes an upper contacting member to come into contact with an upper surface of the top sheet, and a restricting member extending from the upper contacting member along a rear end surface of the sheets to stop rear ends of the sheets in its entire width direction, the upper contacting member and the restricting member being arranged such that a width dimension of the end fence is changeable in the width direction, and the end fence being arranged above the top sheet.
