摘要： An image forming apparatus includes an image forming unit and a developing separation mechanism. The image forming unit includes an image carrier and a developing device. The developing device includes a developing member and movable in a developing position where the developing member is in contact with the image carrier and a separated position where the developing member is separated away from the image carrier, and is configured to be drawn out from an apparatus main body. The developing separation mechanism includes an arm member configured to interfere with the developing device from a downstream side of a draw-out direction so as to move the developing device from the developing position to the separated position, and to be turned to an upstream side of the draw-out direction by the image forming unit when the image forming unit is drawn out and then be separated from the developing device.

摘要： An image forming apparatus includes a main body housing, an openable/closable part, a sheet feeding tray, an image forming device, a sheet feeding roller, a first coupling, a drive gear, a second coupling, a biasing member, and a link mechanism. The first coupling is provided in the sheet feeding roller. The second coupling is provided coaxially with the drive gear, rotatable following the drive gear, slidable relative to the drive gear in an axial direction and capable of fitting to the first coupling. The biasing member biases the second coupling to the first coupling to connect the second coupling to the first coupling. The link mechanism disconnects the second coupling from the first coupling against a biasing force of the biasing member so as to block a transmission of the drive force with an opening of the openable/closable part.

Along the image forming path, paper is conveyed to the image former and the fixing device. The controller selectively executes a first mode and a second mode. In the first mode, the roller conveys the first sheet, then conveys the second sheet at a first interval. In the second mode, the roller conveys the first sheet, then conveys the second sheet at a second interval which is longer than the first interval. When the controller has determined that a first time has elapsed after starting continuous printing in the first mode, and when the controller has determined that the temperature of the end region of the heating member is higher than a first temperature, the controller changes the mode from the first mode to the second mode.

The load applier unit includes a contacting member, a lever, and a contractive spring. One of the contacting member and the arm has one of a protrusion and a hole section, and the other of the contacting member and the arm has the other of the protrusion and the hole section. The holder is maintained in a second holder-position when the protrusion contacts one end of the hole section and applies a weight of the load applier unit to the arm and maintained in the first holder-position when the protrusion contacts the other end of the hole section and applies a load from the contractive spring acting in a direction to press the feed roller against sheets to the arm.
