Abstract:
A condition monitoring device for attachment to a machine and for monitoring the condition thereof includes at least one sensor for monitoring at least one parameter of the machine, and a processor connected to the one or more sensors for analyzing the signals produced therefrom. A wireless transmitter and a wireless receiver is connected to the processor and permits external communication therewith. The condition monitoring device further includes at least one visual indicator of the status of the monitored machine based upon the sensed parameter.
Abstract:
A mechanical seal includes an elastomeric member, a spring biasing device, a longitudinally floating first member having a seal face, a longitudinally non-floating second member and a longitudinally floating third member. The elastomeric member is in sealing engagement with the first member, second member and third member and the spring biasing device is longitudinally positioned between the first member and the second member. One of either the first member or the second member is provided with at least one protruding male portion and the other member of either the first member or the second member is provided with corresponding female portion into which the male portion locates.
Abstract:
A mechanical seal includes an elastomeric member, a spring biasing device, a longitudinally floating first member, a longitudinally non-floating second member and a longitudinally floating seal face. The elastomeric member is in a sealing engagement with the seal face. The first and second members and the spring biasing device are longitudinally positioned between the seal face and the second member. The first member and the second member are longitudinally restrained and rotationally coupled by at least one substantially male radially protruding portion in one of the members engaging in at least one substantially female portion in the other member of the two members. The first and second members are arranged for a sealing engagement with the seal face in a single seal utilizing the elastomeric member, or with the seal face and an additional seal face in a double seal utilizing an additional elastomeric member.
Abstract:
In a system and method for ensuring that a liquid ring vacuum pump contains an optimum amount of barrier fluid the pump and a vessel for containing barrier fluid are set at respective levels such that, when the pump is at rest and the level of barrier fluid id at its optimum the level of the fluid in the vessel is at a convenient and pre-selected level with respect to the height of the vessel. In operation of the pump, if the level of the barrier fluid in the vessel departs from the pre-selected level as detected by detecting means, the vessel is automatically charge with barrier fluid from a barrier fluid supply, or barrier fluid is automatically discharged from the vessel, as appropriate. The correct level or quantity of barrier fluid in the pump is thereby maintained.

Abstract:
A mechanical seal includes a sleeve in sealing engagement with a rotating shaft of a piece of equipment and one or more primary or secondary sealing faces urged toward one another by a plurality of spring members. A gland detachably attached to a housing of the piece of equipment. A clamp ring is provided with one or more setting members detachably attached to the clamp ring and the gland to restrict axial and rotational movement and to render internal dimensions independent of the tolerances and assembly accuracy of the piece of equipment.
Abstract:
A bearing seal includes a rotor and a stator and at least one electrically conductive elastomeric toroidal member. When the bearing seal is installed in equipment and is providing sealing between the rotor and the stator, an electrical grounding path is provided therebetween, the electrical grounding path extending through the electrically conductive elastomeric toriodal member.
Abstract:
A mechanical seal includes an elastomeric member, a spring biasing member, a longitudinally floating first member, a longitudinally non-floating second member, a longitudinally floating third member and a longitudinally floating seal face. The elastomeric member is in sealing engagement with the seal face and the first and second members and the spring biasing member is longitudinally pointed between the seal face and the third member. The first and second members are longitudinally restrained and rotationally coupled by male longitudinally protruding portions engaging with female portions.
Abstract:
A mechanical seal for sealing between a housing and a relatively rotating shaft includes a gland for attachment to a housing for a piece of equipment, at least one adjustable setting in the ground and extending therefrom for engaging the housing and a non-permanent device for detachably attaching the gland to the housing for a piece of equipment.
Abstract:
A bearing isolator for controlling fluid flow includes a static component fixed relative to a housing and a rotational component fixed relative to a shaft. The static and rotational components are held axially relative to each other and an annual sealing member is provided. The annual sealing member has a first position in contact with both the static and rotational components and a second position in contact with either, or both, of the static or rotational components. The profile of the static and rotational components is shaped to create a flow path between them with the flow path having at least one feature to slow the flow of fluid therethrough.
