摘要： A flow control device for controlling the flow rate of liquid through a flexible tube which comprises a body having sides and a slot to receive the flexible tube passing through the body. The slot commences at one of the sides of the body and the length of the slot is sufficient to receive most of the tube. The slot has sides spaced apart a predetermined distance sufficient to bear against the sides of the tube when in position in the slot to deform the tube inwardly and evenly along those sides a sufficient degree to provide an even, predetermined reduced flow rate through the tube. Because the tube is constricted in a routine manner by the slot of the device, a predictable reduced flow rate can be achieved for outlet tubes of a similar construction and diameter, making it possible to achieve a predetermined, proper flow rate through that tube. This device provides surprising reliability when used on a tube in conjunction with a liquid dispensing outlet controller, for simultaneous flow of milk from a bag of whole milk and a bag of reconstituted powdered milk, to achieve proper relative flow rates through the tubes from the two bags of milk.

Each moisture barrier includes a multitude of small openings therein exposing the moisture absorbent material to the air trapped between the covering and the body of the person. One of the barriers is metallized to reflect radiant-energy and the other barrier is darkly colored to absorb radiant-energy. In one embodiment, the covering is arranged to be releasably secured within a conventional garment to absorb moisture trapped therein. In another embodiment, the covering forms a garment itself.

摘要： A fall arrest lanyard for use by a worker at an elevated position on a pole, e.g., a telephone pole. The lanyard comprises a flexible strap and a pair of gripping units. The strap is arranged to be releasably connected to the worker to form a loop encircling the pole. Each of the gripping units comprises an elongated, rigid or semi-rigid tubular member having a handgrip at one end, and a first pole penetrating head adjacent the handgrip. In one embodiment, a second pole penetrating head is located at the other end of the tubular member. The strap extends through both tubular members. Each of the penetrating heads has a plurality of larger upper teeth and a plurality of small lower teeth. Each tooth has a horizontally disposed cutting edge. The gripping units are arranged to be manipulated by the worker grasping the handgrips to cause the cutting edges of the teeth to penetrate into the material of the pole.

摘要： A visually inspectable shock absorbing safety lanyard to reduce the shock of gravity when a person wearing a safety support system falls from an elevated position. The lanyard comprises a length of material having a first end adapted to be connected to the person, e.g., via a safety belt or harness, and a second end adapted to be connected to a fall prevention device, e.g. a rope grab, and a shock absorbing mechanism located therebetween. The shock absorbing mechanism is disposed within an inner cover to hold the mechanism in place, to keep it clean and to provide a visual indicator that the mechanism may have been tampered with or previously actuated. A readily openable second cover formed of a flexible material and including a releasably securable opening is disposed about the inner cover and is arranged when opened to provide visual access to the inner cover. In the preferred embodiment, the inner cover enclosing the shock is transparent so that the person using the lanyard also can visually inspect the shock absorber mechanism within the inner cover.

摘要： A bag for mixing powdered skim milk. The bag comprises an outer, conventional flexible dairy bag for holding milk to be distributed commercially. The bag is formed from sheets of plastic, heat sealed along adjacent peripheral edges. An opening is provided through which to fill the bag, the opening provided with a cap or a flexible spigot through which milk within the bag is to be dispensed. The bag further comprises an inner bag of tubular shape made of a frangible plastic sheet and heat sealed along at least two common adjacent seams with the outer bag so that the non-heat-sealing of one of the common seams, when the inner bag is in position, provides external access for filling the inner bag while the inner bag volume remains separated from the outer bag volume.

The waist belt of various harness includes a positionable tool case thereon. The waist belts of some harnesses each include a positioning pad releasably secured thereto.

摘要： An anchor system and method of use for securement to a fixed anchor point at an elevated position on a structure. The system comprises a rope arranged to be extended between the elevated position and a lower position, and slidable connection device. The connection device is arranged to be releasably secured to the fixed anchor point and comprises a flexible tubular member woven of strands of fibers. The tubular member has a pair of ends, each of which includes an extension projecting therefrom. Each extension is bent back over itself and inserted into the tubular member to form a loop. A connector is mounted on one of the loops and is arranged to be releasably secured to the fixed anchor. The rope extends through the tubular member, with the tubular member having a sufficiently large internal diameter that the rope may slide therethrough. The tubular member is arranged to be contracted radially inward upon the application of a pulling force to each of its ends, whereupon the internal diameter is reduced so that the rope is tightly frictionally engaged to preclude it from sliding therethrough.

The harness is formed of interconnected webs of flexible, e.g., nylon, material. The seat board assembly includes a generally planar panel which is arranged to be releasably secured to the harness for supporting the person's buttocks thereon so that he or she may move about relatively unencumbered by the system. The system also includes a pair of extendable, flexible, repelling straps for connection to a lowering device mounting on an adjacent safety line to enable the person to repel down the line. The seat board panel has a pair of flexible connecting straps projecting from opposed sides thereof for releasable securment, e.g., via VELCRO fasteners, to respective buckles on the harness to suspend the seat board panel below the harness.
