    摘要: A device for centering a work piece with respect to a centerline of a tool includes a radially-stationary component rigidly secured with respect to the tool such that the radially-stationary component and the tool are concentric. A biasing mechanism is biased away from the radially-stationary component to apply substantially equally-distributed radial force at a periphery of the work piece to thereby center the work piece with respect to the tool. A method of broaching a work piece having an inner and an outer diameter includes machining the outer diameter and then applying circumferentially-distributed radial force to the inner diameter or the outer diameter to thereby center the work piece with respect to a broach tool. After the applying step, the method includes broaching the inner diameter of the work piece using the broach tool.

    摘要: A broach for internal broaching is formed on its pull end and/or follower end with a tapered surface machined with high accuracy. A pull head and/or a retrieving head of a broaching machine, which drivingly grip the pull end and the follower end the broach, is formed with a tapered inner surface complementary to the tapered surface of the broach. The pull head and the retrieving head grip the broach while pressing and clamping their tapered inner surface against the tapered surface, and these heads and the broach are firmly connected together. Clearances or gaps between the heads and the broach are thus eliminated, concentricity between the heads and the broach is significantly improved, and broaching can be performed with high accuracy.

    摘要: A broach has a main body of a cemented carbide material. On this main body, a front grip portion, a cylindrical portion following the front grip portion and provided with a plurality of guide parts in its outer periphery, a broach cutting edge portion following an end of the cylindrical portion and having a number of cutting edges, and a cylindrical extension following the broach cutting edge portion and having a maximum outer periphery dimension to such an extent that the extension does not interfere with a work are integrally provided. On an end surface of the cylindrical extension, a load receiving shoulder is formed, which leads to a rear grip portion including a small-diameter part and is orthogonal to or inclined with respect to a broach axis. The load receiving shoulder has a sufficient area to bear a cutting load. A broaching machine grips the rear grip portion with its load receiving surface abutting against the load receiving shoulder of the cemented carbide broach. The broach, even when having a small diameter, does not suffer from an insufficient tensile strength of the front grip portion.

    摘要: A circulating type milling apparatus for milling a lock core keyway includes a frame with a rotating disc that is intermittently rotated through a pre-determined angle. Lock core seats are equidistantly provided on the rotating disc. A milling disc is mounted to a top plate of the frame and includes cutters, ejecting plate, and detectors mounted thereon. The cutters are lowered to mill a keyway in each lock core. When the cutters are further moved downward and thus disengaged from the lock cores, the rotating disc is rotated by a distance that is equal to a half distance between two adjacent lock core seats such that each lock core seat is in a positioning in alignment with an associated detector yet not in alignment with an associated cutter. When the milling disc is moved upward, the detector checks whether the milled keyway of the lock core meets the required standard. The ejecting plate ejects the finished milled lock core, and a new lock core is fed by a lock core supplying device.

    摘要: Two vertically movable carriages are alternately reciprocated. Each carriage holds two broaches positioned at opposite sides of the ways that guide the carriage. In one embodiment workpieces are moved from a magazine between the carriages alternately to work stations beside each carriage. In another embodiment the workpieces are moved between the two broaches in a series of three steps, the first broach acting on a given workpiece during a dwell before the first step and the second broach acting on that workpiece during a dwell after the third step. In yet another embodiment the workpieces are held by a chuck which, between successive broaching strokes, rotates the workpiece about an axis normal to the broaching strokes.
