Abstract:
The invention relates to an arrangement for detachable coupling of a trailer equipped with pivoting wheels to a ball hitch of a vehicle. At the forward end of the trailer there is a coupling receptacle to receive the ball hitch and a locking member to lock the ball hitch in the coupling receptacle. In order to prevent the trailer from rotating about a vertical axis through the ball hitch two opposing stops are fitted at the forward end of the trailer at such a distance from each other in the lateral direction that when the trailer is coupled to the ball hitch of the vehicle the stops bear against corresponding opposing stop faces at the rear end of the vehicle.
Abstract:
A dump truck or other truck having a rigid chassis and a front and a rear axle assemblies secured at fixed points along the chassis, wherein this truck is distinctively provided with a supplementary axle assembly displaceable behind the conventional rear axle assembly lengthwise of the truck chassis, between a position protracting rearward from the latter to increase the payload rating of the truck and a retracted position under the rear of the chassis for unhindered dumping operation. The supplementary axle assembly is also vertically adjustable between an off-the-ground position for the empty return trips, a normal suspension position for the increased payload rating, and a stiffer suspension position for increased loading on the front axle and steering maneuverability. This truck includes a supplementary frame slidably connected to the chassis, and hydraulic cylinder slidably actuating this frame, and an adjustable suspension interposed between the supplementary axle assembly and frame for the afore-mentioned vertical adjustment.
Abstract:
A self steering two-wheel trailer including frame and hitch means for rigidly securing the trailer to a motor vehicle so as to be pivotable relative thereto in the vertical direction only, and adjustable link means pivotally connected between the wheels, the adjustable link means including tie bars axially aligned and interconnected at their inner ends by damper means suitable for responding to road load conditions upon reversing the direction of travel to automatically accommodate pivoting of the wheels to a toe-in attitude in the new direction of movement.
Abstract:
A trailer to vehicle laterally stable hitching mechanism wherein an attaching plate of the trailer vertically and laterally self-aligns into a receiving plate of the vehicle establishing the trailer as an operational extension of the vehicle.
Abstract:
A trailer device is provided with pressure washing features and devices. The trailer device is convertible between at least a first and mode of transport, wherein a first mode comprises a towing mode, and a second mode comprises a push or manual operation mode. The device also comprises various on-board features and control systems such that a fully-functional pressure washing unit is provided that is easily transporting between locations.
Abstract:
My weight transferring tow dolly is releasably attachable to a receiver hitch of a towing vehicle such as a pickup truck and generally provides a dolly frame formed of plural structurally interconnected box beams having a height adjustable suspension carrying an axle with wheels and tires at opposing end portions, and a support frame to partially support the weight of a carried load and to move the center of gravity of a loaded towing vehicle forwardly to increase the stability of the towing vehicle.
Abstract:
A modular trailer assembly for attachment to a frame of a vehicle includes an elongate support member, a first connector rigidly mountable to the frame of the vehicle, a rear loop, and a second connector. The proximal end of the support member is pivotally connected to the first connector and selectively detachable therefrom. At least one wheel is rotatably connected to the distal end of the rear loop. The second connector includes a first frame member and a second frame member rotatably coupled to one another. The distal end of the first frame is configured to engage the proximal end of the rear loop. The proximal end of the second frame member is configured to engage the distal end of the support member. The first frame member is rotatably moveable to allow cargo to track with the vehicle independently of a change in orientation of the at least one wheel.
