摘要： A multi-piece hinge pivotably connects a top member and a bottom member. The hinge includes an upper hinge member securable to the top member, a lower hinge member securable to the bottom member and fixable in a frame, a hinge cover secured between the upper hinge member and the lower hinge member, and a spring element acting between the upper hinge member and the lower hinge member. The upper hinge member is pivotable relative to the lower hinge member across a pivot range between a closed position and an open position. The pivot range is limited by a stop assembly. In the closed position, the spring element is positioned to bias the upper hinge member toward the closed position, and in the open position, the spring member is displaced over center to bias the upper hinge member toward the open position.

摘要： A hinge assembly has a hinge door that is pivotally mounted to a hinge base. The door has a flat body with a pair of square tabs extending laterally from one end. The hinge base has a flat frame with a rectangular aperture. A pair of parallel, rigid flanges extend from the aperture in the frame. Each flange has an entry hole that leads into a diagonal slot. The slots terminate in circular recesses. The hinge door is installed in the hinge base to form the assembly by initially positioning the tabbed end of the door diagonally in the aperture. The tabs are then elevated slightly above the frame and rotated into alignment with the entry holes. The door is angled into alignment with the diagonal slots and lowered in that plane. This motion causes the tabs to move past the entry holes, through the slots, and into the circular recesses to form the hinge assembly. The recesses closely receive the tabs on the door to allow pivotal motion therebetween.

摘要： A snap-in hinge for an enclosure having provisions to prevent binding of the attached cover. The hinge includes at least two legs extending from the ends of a curved portion of the hinge and a blocking means integral with the corresponding hinge slot located in the enclosure. The legs, extending from the ends of the hinge, provide a smooth and continuous bearing surface for the enclosure cover, thereby preventing the enclosure cover from being trapped under an extended portion of the hinge which might be used to prevent over insertion of the hinge into the hinge slot. The blocking means of the corresponding hinge slot engaging parallel edges of the curved portion on the hinge prevents the hinge from being over inserted into the slot and thereby binding on the portion of the enclosure cover captivated by the curved portion of the hinge.

摘要： A two part hinge for containers and boxes. The first part includes a pair parallel arms which include axially aligned opposing sockets which are configured to rotatingly receive pintle ends. The sockets are provided with radially disposed channels which extend from the sockets to exterior edges of the arms to form a slot for guiding the pintle ends into the sockets. The first hinge part also includes a dual function tab which is generally collaterally aligned with and parallel to the arms of the first part of the hinge. The tab is provided with a camming surface and a retaining surface. The camming surface engages and deflects the center portion of the pintle as it passes thereby, while the retaining surface maintains the pintle ends in the sockets by effectively blocking movement of the center portion of the pintle. The retaining surface of the tab is consistent with the arcuate surfaces of the sockets to form a smooth transition between the socket surfaces and the retaining surface of the tab. The second hinge part includes a pair parallel arms which project outwardly from the other of the container sections and which support a pintle or hinge pin, in such a fashion that the pintle ends extend beyond the lateral extent of the arms. To assemble the hinge, the pintle ends are slid into the channels toward the sockets. Assembly is essentially complete when the pintle body passes the camming portion of the tab.
